Air travel question

I'm traveling tomorrow. Just me and my 8 month old. As a lap child do I need a car seat? Or does she just actually sit on my lap. Trying to carry as little as possible. Thanks.

    No car seat. Lap child actually means just that--they sit in your lap. :-)

    Remember to bring your baby's BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Also, if baby sucks on something during take off and landing baby's ears will pop easier. Also, a good tip for adults is to yawn in order to pop one's ears, FYI. ;)

    We took our little guy flying when he was almost 6 months. We took a red-eye so thankfully he slept the whole time except during take-off.
