So my baby is 4 weeks old. He normally poops while he is eating. He drinks breast milk by the way and I'm a first time mon. Anyways last couple days he had been having a hard time like he cries because it's so hard and it takes longer for him to poop. Anyone know if this is normal or away to help him.
And as for me im constipated you think I would be used to it because I had issues with it my whole pregnancy but im still having issues. I even take a stool softener. I drink lots of water and eat pretty well too. I thought it would go back to normal after my baby was here. Any advice?
Re: constipation baby/mom
Bran cereal. Eat it as a snack.
Fiber one snack bars or brownies. It will change your life.
Fiber gummies.
Examine your diet. Are you eating anything new? Try eating some oatmeal or flax for the fiber. As far as baby goes as their gut develops they might experience the occasional bout of constipation. Try drinking some prune juice and see if that passes to him for help with the stool. Ask your pedi before you do it, but a tiny bit of prune juice droppered in their mouth can help him too. I'm talking one or two drops before you offer the breast to wash it down.
That is what I did for DD who has had digestive issues from birth. It worked like a charm.

Our newborn girl is breastfed and wouldn't poop today. My husband rubbed, I cycled... and like you said: it works like a charm ;;) and fast too!
