And in other news... The good AND the bad

First, the bad.
The company I work(ed) for is declaring bankruptcy today.
They informed us mid afternoon yesterday to clear our belongings and vacate the building.

I have mixed emotions about this. I was working from home, so I still got time with LO anyway, but it was a nice paycheque. Now it's gone.
Also, since I need to work 600 hours to qualify for maternity leave (in Canada) I need to get a new job soon...yikes!!

The good.
LO slept 10pm to 6am them we said goodbye to daddy when he left for work, LO had some milk, then slept from 6:45 to 8:45.
I really enjoyed my sleep. :)
Beats getting up at 4am for work. Lol.

Guess I better get to work on updating my résumé.

I hope everyone is having an awesome Tuesday!!!

Lol, I just started back last Monday, so 48. Lmao.
    Only 552 to go.
    That's 14 weeks at 40 hrs/week.
    Or 18+ weeks at 30 hrs/week.

I'm 15 weeks pregnant now, so I better get a move on.

  • I'm sorry to hear the news about your job. :( on a positive note, 600 hours is easier to achieve than the 52 weeks of continuous employment/1,250 hours required in the USA. GL to you on your job search!

Ya, I knew it was different in the USA, but didn't know HOW different.

I got some potentially good news an hour or so ago. Lets hope it works out.

Ooof - sorry to hear that. Best wishes. If it makes you feel better I know someone who was laid off around 22 weeks and managed to land something and still take a full year paid leave (she lived in Oakville). This was about 10 years ago, during the tech recession and she was a travel agent and managed to land another travel agent job....which, I mean, I can't remember the last time I even saw a travel agency. I had certainly moved on to expedia etc. by then.

In anycase, I know this is stressful and a mixed bag. Hopefully your good news sticks. Send an update when you know how that news will shake out.
  • Exciting! Good luck!
