Happy October 1st, ladies!

This is a weekly check-in for all ladies who are pregnant after suffering miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Member, please post your updates here! If you are new, please post a short intro with your history with your post.

With so many of us now, I cannot possibly respond to everyone individually, even though I would love to! So please feel free to comment and support each other on this thread, since that's what this check-in is all about. Being PGAL is it's own special world, and sometimes we need to know that what we are not alone in what we are feeling and thinking. So here we go!

Weeks/fruit: 9 weeks, green olive

Updates/appts: Nothing coming up this week. I have my flu jab on weds, which is free because i'm pg. Had my booking appt last Friday.

Overall/symptoms: Had my 1st throw up on Saturday and have been feeling pretty ropey since then. The nausea has lessened, but my gag reflex is really sensitive. I'm also getting a lot more headaches this week and am still really tired.

PGAL Brain: I'm pretty good actually. I think throwing up actually reassured me that things are going well. When I had my BO, I was nauseous but never enough to upchuck. I feel like it's a weird milestone in itself! I bought some maternity clothes online at the weekend because I felt more confident.

GTKY: I'm in the UK and we don't really celebrate Halloween over here. It's seen as something for kids ("trick or treating" etc), but over the last few years I think more people have been buying into it. We're becoming more Americanised! I think it's just another excuse for Brits to get drunk and messy. It doesn't take much.

Hi luna!! Today I'm a blueberry

I have my first ultrasound on Friday and can't wait! I haven't had too many symptoms but my breasts are def getting more sore each day and larger. I also get fatigued and winded pretty easily. Luckily no ms to report of!!

pgal mind is staying in check right now. I think its bc we told our parents this part weekend so I feel like a weight was lifted off our shoulders. I've also had a lot of weird dreams but positive ones so I will take that as a sign. (((Hugs))) to everyone today who needs them!!

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? If we reach Saturday - it will officially be the longest time I have been pg.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Feeling ok - just have a lot of food aversions right now - nothing sounds good.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? It comes and goes. I thought after hearing the hb last week that I would calm down some, but my fears have increased.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! My sister and I were the Californa Raisins one year and I loved it!!

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 5w6d so still an appleseed but 6 weeks tomorrow so I finally get to be a sweet pea

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? My first u/s is a week from today. I am so ready for it be here.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I feel mostly fine. I think I'm starting to ease into morning sickness. I've had some pretty intense gag reflexes too.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? It's okay this week. I actually find the closer I get to my appt, the more I calm down which seems weird.

I don't really know that I have a worst, luckily my parents didn't ever try to embarrass me

I honestly don't know my best either, but I know my favorite as a kid was a bumblebee. I wanted to be one so bad for Halloween and my mom told me if I could earn the money, I could buy it. I was so proud of myself! I think I was 7 or 8?

How many weeks/what fruit are you? I'm now a raspberry! My EDD was changed so I'm now 8w3d from 7w4d.

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? We had our 1st appointment today and everything looks great! Next one is scheduled for Oct.29th.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I'm just so tired all of the time. Nausea seems worst at night, but hadn't throw up yet. I'm ready for 2nd tri.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I couldn't sleep last night. I was so nervous before my appointment, but I'm glad I'm able to breathe now.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! Most embarrassing was probably dressing up like a guy from Duran Duran. I was in 5th grade and they were my fav band...lol. I don't have a picture, thankfully!

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 9w2d - olive

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? My next appointment got pushed to October 16th. Only two weeks to go!

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? My nausea had calmed down for a few days, and then yesterday morning came back full force. Tiredness, constipation and sore boobs haven't changed much.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? - Not great. The spotting hasn't stopped. It's still a small amount and not red, but I'm starting to get really worried. I put a call in to my doctor this morning, and am hoping to hear something soon.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! - When I was 8, I wanted to be the pink power ranger. My mom always made my costumes, and insisted on making my pink suit/helmet out of heavy felt so that I wouldn't catch cold. I've never been so hot and miserable, but the costume at least looked cool!

Hi ladies!

I'm a raspberry until Thursday.

We had our first appointment yesterday and had an ultrasound. Baby looking good and a strong heartbeat of 171. Such a happy day!!

Feeling pretty exhausted, but we're also dealing with our first family cold. Otherwise nausea comes and goes, nothing too bad at this point if I eat regularly.

My mom made us these homemade dinosaur costumes and stuffed the tails too much so I knocked stuff off people's porches when I turned around. But they were cute!

Hi All - I'm encouraged to read that some of you have reached/passed your previous loss benchmarks. I hope everyone continues to do well!

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 7 weeks today based on LMP

Any updates? U/S on Friday.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I've definitely felt more nauseated this time vs the previous pregnancies. Breast tenderness comes & goes. Last night & this morning, I'm having a consistent twinge / pinching feeling in the uterus. That's normal, right? Right??

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I'm still a mess. I convince myself that my symptoms are waning. And even when I do have strong symptoms, I remind myself that I continued to have symptoms with my MMC. There is no satisfying me. I have to laugh at my own ridiculousness sometimes.

Halloween costume? As a kid, we almost always had the cheesy plastic capes and mask on elastic string. I loved Halloween so much though that I didn't know to be embarrassed. My husband and I were Zapp & Leela from Futurama a few years ago. That was fun.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms?

Still feeling really good very little symptoms. Sore boobs is my biggest one and the cramps. I had a little bit of nausea last night but nothing too bad.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?

Fine I guess. I'm trying not to want to go to the hospital every time my cramps get the better of me. I know I have an appt in two weeks and I keep telling myself to wait. Both of my losses were later so even if I was reassured everything was good right now I wouldn't be comfortable until I can feel the baby move.

I don't remember any Halloween costumes from being a kid the only one I know is the one my mom shares I was a white bunny she was a black and orange tiger with some body paint I got freaked out climbed up her and the I was a black, orange and white bunny.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Nausea continues and my boobs are increasingly sore and heavy. Overall just feeling gross and tired.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?

I had a tiny (like most people wouldn't notice it) amount of spotting (and it was just some brown cm) this weekend which sent both DH and I into a PGAL tailspin.
Last night I freaked out that the only reason I have symptoms and haven't m/c is because I'm on progesterone supplements and that there will be nothing there when we go on Friday. Even though I had good betas and one good u/s already. So yeah PGAL is hitting hard right now.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP!

My favorite were tinkerbell and paperbag princess costumes I wore in college. Can't think of any embarrassing ones.

I posted a thread on PGaL. My first u/s is tomorrow, which is also the one year anniversary of when we discovered Ava's heart had stopped. I'm a nervous wreck.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms?
Super tired, sore boobs, but not nearly as nauseous as I was in my last pregnancy. I'm eating pretty well these days.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?
Terrible. I'm scared that tomorrow I will receive bad news.

Hmmmm. Best I would say was when I was Felicity from Austin Powers and my hubby was Austin Powers. We had such a good time at the party we went to, totally wasted. The pictures are priceless. If I was home right now I would show you a PIP. Worst was when I was little and my mom totally forgot to get me a costume, so she cut holes in an old sheet and made me a ghost.

Had the first u/s last thurs first time I have gotten to see one of mine. Hb 178. This is the furthest I've been 1st ended at 6w second BO discovered at 8w. Hoping this really is the one I get to keep. Next apt in 3 weeks.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms?
Feeling exhausted as hell especially since we are moving right now. Nausea hasn't been so bad this last weekish but taking zofran when it does start so feeling pretty ok. Constipation has kicked in but think that's from the zofran cause I never had it last time.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?
Right now I am ok. I calmed down a lot after seeing the baby and hearing the hb. Still worried about losing it at any time though.

Hmmm… worse was the lil mermaid costume my mother made me when I was 6 she made the foot hole so small I could barely move my legs and could only inch along. I had to sit in a wagon and my brothers had to pull me up to each door. And she made me wear it to all the costume parties/ contests cause it took her so long to make even though I could hardly walk in it. I hate the little mermaid. Always have. Why she thought that would be a good costume I don't know. Oh and then there's the princess Leila one when I was 9. She put me in a white turtle neck and white leggings and wrapped my hair round my ears like the buns she wore. NO ONE knew what I was.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 7 weeks 5 days

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones?
First "official" appointment tomorrow at 2pm. I'm really nervous. Even after seeing the HB, I'm still scared. My latest loss was at 8 wks, 5 days, so as that date approaches I'm feeling more anxious.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms?
Still nauseous and bloated. My bbs feel super heavy!

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?
As my loss date gets closer I feel more anxious. I didn't find out until my 10 week appt that I had mmc, so I think after I have a couple more appts. and just get out of 1st trimester, I will feel so much better!

Random GTKY: Not sure if I have a best/worst, but this year my husband and I got matching track suits, with headbands, wrist bands, etc. we even went all out to get a matching sweatband for our little white dog. We're trying to be "that suburban couple". We're pretty excited about it!

I also am freaking out about the progesterone supplements. We had an U/S about a week ago and all there was was a gestational sack. We go back on the 10th and I have myself convinced that there won't be anything in there. Your so not alone on that one. GL on friday

ETA: I have an "obsession" with tinkerbell. She's awesome. I have been her foe Halloween multiple times. :-)

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 9w5d : grape? Olive?

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? My first OB appt is tomorrow. They wouldn't schedule it until I passed my loss milestone (8w). Nothing else scheduled yet but i will set up my nt scan tomorrow.
Also heading in for Harmony bloodwork sometime next week.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I seem to have every symptom (nausea only, no yarfing), but they come and go. Nausea, dizziness, tender boobs, constipation, heartburn, trouble sleeping...tiredness is my constant companion but I honestly love having symptoms.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? Better, since I found the hb on my doppler this morning!

Halloween: I can't recall any terrible costumes.

7 weeks, 3 days/blueberry

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? I had my first appointment last Friday and got to see my little one and hear the heartbeat! My next appointment is not until 10/24.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Very nauseous this week. I puked Friday and yesterday, but feel a lot better today. I don't want to eat anything and really have to choke down food.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? Not so hot. My doctor told me my little one's heart rate is low(142 at 6w6d). He made me very nervous and I did some research and found its normal. Why is he making me more paranoid than I need to be? He also told me I couldn't run after taking no personal history and hasn't called me back since I left him a message Friday. Not good for a paranoid PgAL lady!

I'm new to this board but very grateful there are other PGAL ladies to talk to! I had a mc in late June at only 5 weeks, and it was crazy we got pregnant again so soon after bc we had fertility issues for over a year.
I'm 8 weeks today... A raspberry!
We had an ultrasound at 6w4d and heard a precious heartbeat.
Symptoms, I get nauseous every morning and often in the evenings too. I never throw up, and I'm actually grateful for the ms because it gives me hope this baby is healthy and growing.
PGAL brain affects mme every day. Every time I go to the bathroom I worry I'll see blood, and last night I had a nightmare we lost the baby. I woke up crying. I hear dreams get crazy during pregnancy, and I hope PGAL brain won't make them worse.
My most memorable Halloween was when I dressed up as a picnic. I had a picnic table cloth draped over me, and paper plates and fake food taped on. It was funny, but that night it was so cold and windy everything blew off during trick or treat!

We saw a HB last week.

Still tons of morning sickness in the evenings, but I seem to be able to function better. I know some of that is due to Zofran that I am taking as needed.''

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I still feel really good, I wouldn;t even know I was pg if I wasn't sleepy and have sore boobs. The occasional cramp comes around every once in a while.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I had horrible m/s last pg, and since I've felt so great, it makes PgAL brain worse. So I POAS earlier this week just to make sure. $:\$ ">

I never had a real embarrassing costume, the best was probably when I insisted on going as Catwoman when I was little. It was a pretty sweet costume.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 9 weeks 1 day/green olive

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? Next appointment isn't until 10/29 but our last appointment on Wednesday went great.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? I am still feeling pretty icky. DH accidentally woke me up last night and I puked up my PNV. *sigh* I'm taking this all as a good sign though.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I actually got a little weird after our appointment that maybe we shouldn't tell our parents because everything is going so well. My siblings talked me out of that though so I guess we're spilling the beans tonight. :-)

My favorite costume as a kid was when I was a gingerbread man in kinder or 1st grade. My favorite adult costume was last year when I dressed as a flapper and my DH was a gangster. Those were fun costumes.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? Our little munchkin is a sweet pea this week! (6w3d)

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? Was in the hospital for a few days this past week for what they thought was either ectopic (we didn't see placement until the ER) or appendicitis. Turns out neither! Follow up visit today and had first time we could see LO on the u/s... Dr finally dated me and we saw a little flicker of a heart beat!

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Tired, nauseous, moody... UGH! But SUPER excited!

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? Something about this munchkin seems different, maybe it's because we actually got to see this one this time... but it seems more real like nothing bad will happen like last time. At least... I'm praying so.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? I think I'm a raspberry: 8w4d

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? I had an ultrasound today with my RE and have my first OB appt. tomorrow morning. I've already passed my loss milestone of 7w5d.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Mostly, I'm feeling okay. Very tired. I get queasy every night but haven't thrown up yet. And I'm so, so constipated.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? Badly. I was just starting to feel a little calmer but then at my ultrasound today, while the fetus was perfect, my uterus was weird. It's hard to explain but my lining is kind of bulging into the gestational sac. It's on the other side from the fetus, but it's still abnormal. The RE has no idea what it is or if it's a problem. But now I'm super worried.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! I had many odd costumes as a kid. It might be a tie between when I went as Papa Smurf or when I went as a big red balloon. Yep, I made myself look huge and blimpy as a ten-year-old girl. Not sure why my mother allowed that one

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 8 Weeks - Raspberry

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? No doctors appts this week. Friday is my last day at my current employer and I broke the news to my team today. Thankfully I was able to keep my emotions in check until I got to the vehicle. The goodbye process is always so friggin hard and these hormones arent making it any easier!

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Today I feel pretty good in regard to m/s. I only got sick once! I have lost about 5 lbs since the m/s kicked in, but I dont think the OB will be concerned as I am chubbier than I should be. BBs are less sore and m/s has shifted to be more of an afternoon thing.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I "came out" today to my staff since I am leaving. Many of the ladies on my team have been pestering me for the past 2 years as to when I was going to get pregnant. It made the news of me leaving easier to take. Now I am kind of regretting it (even my own family doesnt know) in case I dont make it out of first-tri.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! My favorite was when I dressed up like Raphael the Ninja Turtle (I was maybe 7 at the time). No pictures thank goodness, but I am sure there is a family video tape somewhere.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? Apple seed! Farther than I got last time!

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? Made it to my pregnancy confirmation appointment and hubby is now acknowledging I'm actually pregnant.

We celebrated with dinner which is hard when you are PGAL. I have an ultrasound scheduled in two weeks.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Boobs sore, diarrhea and cramping.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? Ok, I'm starting to feel excited, which I worry about! I bought a couple maternity things on clearance at Kohls. $4 maternity capris! But I am keeping the tags on them. My friend just told me she's pregnant with her 2nd baby and I'm irrationally upset.

Random GTKY: Since it's now October, what is the best/worst/ or most embarrassing Halloween costume you've ever worn or been forced to wear? Extra points for PIP! I was Pocahontas in third grade. My mom made a Native American looking dress. That wasn't PC at all.

I am married and have a 2.5 year old son. I worked as a paralegal up until my son was 2. Right before his second birthday I quit my job. I hated working for attorneys. I would cry everyday on my way to work. Some of the attorneys where amazing, smart, respectful people...most of them where assholes. One of the attorneys I worked for died in a plane crash 3 months prior and it really made reevaluate my life. This man was the kindest man I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Although the pay was great my husband and I decided being at home with our son was the best thing for me and him. Soon after we decided to try for second baby. I got an ovarian cyst in April and during one of check ups at the end of May I found out I was pregnant. The receptionist gave me the results of my pregnancy in front of my mother. I was annoyed, mainly because I wanted my family to know when I was ready. Anyway, my mom told everyone she knows I was pregnant without my consent. After I had my miscarriage, it was a Blighted Ovum, my mother told me and everyone who would listen I caused my miscarriage because I rode my bike while pregnant. She believes in every old wives tail in the dam book. This time around I won't tell my family until I am 20 weeks pregnant.

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones?
My doctor scheduled me for an ultrasound for October 7th but I told him I rather wait until October 14th when I will be 10 weeks pregnant. I want to make sure we see/hear a heartbeat.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms?
Exhausted! And my acid reflux is not letting me sleep. I throw up every time I poop and I have bruises on the sides of my boobs.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week?
Meh. I get really excited and start thinking about my son having a sibling..what if he has a brother?! What if he has a sister?! And then I stop myself...I don't want to get attached to this baby.

and then I feel guilty. Its an emotional rollercoaster.

During the Twilight craziness my best friend got me an "Edwards Baby" shirt with an arrow right above my stomach pointing south. That year I took my nephew trick or treating and decided to wear that shirt..my family members were embarrassed, specifically my mother. They didn't understand the whole Twilight thing so to them I was telling the world that my husband was NOT my child's father. I blame it on the culture/language difference.

PS.. I don't have a picture of me wearing the shirt, but I did find a picture of the shirt itself.

How many weeks/what fruit are you? 8 weeks - raspberry!

Any updates? Upcoming appointments, ultrasounds, milestones? Had a (pointless) intake appointment with the nurse at my OB practice on Monday. Found out after taking the 1hr glucose test (I have a family history of diabetes) that my blood sugar came back high, and now I need to go back for a 3hr glucose test. I'm not looking forward to this. Not to mention, they won't schedule me for an U/S until 10/30 - which is after 12 weeks. I'm considering going to another practice because these people STILL aren't listening to me, and I think it's unfair to make me wait that long just to see a hb.

Overall, how are you feeling? Any new symptoms? Still getting sick a couple times a day, but the nausea seems to be slowly waning. Of course, that makes me think something is wrong.

How is PGAL brain treating you this week? I am just so frustrated in general. I want an U/S NOW and I want to make sure everything is ok. None of the dr's seem to get that at this point. I need it for my own piece of mind, and it seems like everyone else has already had one by this point.

My mom used to make all of our Halloween costumes - the best was probably the clown costume she made...and me and all of my siblings ended up wearing it. Can't really think of the worst...but I'm sure there have been some doozies.
