July 2012 Moms

Charting mamas come in! :)

I just got back into charting after getting my first period back post-baby in July. They've mostly been normal, except my DPOs are much shorter than before I had him. I usually have a temperature drop the night before/day of my periods, but this month it's stayed high, so I'm still above the coverline even though I'm on day 2 of my period today. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it's negative, but I was wondering if anyone else's temperature stayed high during their periods. I'm just wondering what the heck's going on! Thanks for any insight!

I only temped once or twice while on my period. I knew I wasn't going to ovulate during my period, so I chose sleep. I don't remember it ever being high though.
Same here.  I don't temp during my period and for a couple of days after.
If this is your first couple of cycles then your body is probably still regulating.  I found that my cycles were weird (short luteal phase, late ovulation etc) and after a few cycles things evened back out.

  • I have been charting for a little over a month and I noticed my temp dropped the day before I got my period this cycle, and it has stayed low so far (cycle day 9 today). I got my period back in January and we just ttc without charting, no luck so charting it is! I don't have to wake up early to do it though as I wear a temperature sensor 24/7! Here's hoping this is the month for all of us :-)

What is this temperature sensor you speak of? @lh80
  • I don't know if this link will work, but here it is:

I only had a 9 day DPO, so technically without this period having started I'd be at 11 DPO, still too early to test...I didn't mark one day when we DTD and had a bit of a "raw dog" moment before the condom...but it was before he finished (not an excuse, I know)

My period seems just like a normal one though - a little lighter in color, maybe, but (TMI) clots, a whole lot of blood, etc.

  • Thanks! Yeah, there's no way this could be implantation bleeding...super heavy - there's got to be nothing in there! ;)

I think at this point that it's just a flukey thing, although today I went up even higher.  I guess I'll wait until I stop bleeding and see where that takes me.  Thanks for the help!

  • @pinkangelmoon it's a sensor about the size of a nickel and about as deep as a lifesaver, you wear it under your arm, under your bra. It's called a Duofertility advanced fertility monitor. I think they are available in the US now too. https://www.duofertility.com/ Not cheap when I got mine they had a money back guarantee if you're not pregnant within a year. I would highly recommend :-)
