What age (or are you already) planning to put a heavier blanket in the crib? I use an A&A sometimes but nothing heavier. Just curious since winter is coming.
We have a medium weight blanket in DS' crib now. We started putting it in a few weeks ago when it got a little cooler here. I don't know if we will do anything heavier this winter since he is unlikely to really use it anyway. We still use the sleep sack, too.
I've attempted to put blankets in with DD but they just end up balled in the corner almost instantly after putting her down. So I think for our FL "winter" I will just have her sleep in layers.
He sleeps in a sleep sack and we make sure the heater is set. It doesn't get too cold here though. I wouldn't worry too much about blankets anymore but if you're still concerned then maybe dress your LO in layers or cozy footie jammies?
We've got a small quilt in there with her. It seems like the weight of it on her lower half helps her fall asleep. It's scrunched in a corner maybe an hour later. Our bed time system is: - dress in long sleeved cotton pjs - fall asleep with window open and blanket on - H closes window when he goes to bed around 11/12 and removes blanket from crib
All my kids have had blankets in their cribs since day one. Summer has changed blankets many, many times. Leah still has the blanket that she had when she came home from the hospital. It is her favorite blanket. Logan has his blanket that his mom gave him at birth. It his favorite. Eryn and Mallorie use their blankets from birth.
DS has had blankets in his bed for a few months now. Regardless of how many times I cover him at night, the blankets always end up in a ball at his feet or he cuddles them. So I don't think we'll be putting anything heavier in the bed. He uses A&A blankets and a heavier crochet blanket now.
I just upped his blanket to a light fleece. It'll keep him warm and I can always double it (fold in half) to make warmer. I also plan on keeping him layered.

I have a light blanket in his crib right now. I am not planning on doing a heavier blanket for winter since he kicks it off 95% of the time. I am just planning on moving to heavier footed pjs. I have already stocked up on the fleece footies.
DS has a light weight A+A blanket that he snuggles with. He sleeps in pj's and a sleep sack - we have cotton or fleece depending on the weather. It's supposed to be 81 here today....and 50's by the weekend. Strange MN weather. I don't think I will start to put a heavier blanket in his crib, he wouldn't keep it on yet.
If its really cold, I just layer two footie pjs or a long sleeve onesie under a fleece footie pj. I try a crochet blanket but he always kicks it off or gets tangled in it.
We have a quilt I am not ready to use. Right now he has a flannel blanket and a lovey. I think for when it is colder, I will just have him in fleece pjs and an undershirt. He flops and rolls around so much that I wouldn't expect him to keep any blankets on.
Right now lo is using a crocheted blanket I made for him, its a rather holey loose stitch so he doesn't get too hot. I also have a couple more that are warmer for when it gets colder. He also sleeps in cotton PJs and socks.

We have a light fleece blanket in her crib. She never covers up with it but she has to have it to snuggle. We just use long sleeve pajamas and heavier ones since she won't leave a blanket on her. Also, our house stays pretty consistant throughout the year so we don't notice that much of a temp change inside.
I'm not sure what we're going to do. I have a few light blankets we can possibly use, but I think DS rolls around too much at night for them to be of any use. He's sleeping in his room this winter and that side of the house stays much warmer than our room where he slept last year. I imagine he might not need any more than long pjs.
DD has two small, light fleece blankets. One is in her crib at home and one at daycare. She mostly holds them and doesn't actually sleep under them; that's why we still use a sleep sack. They function mostly as lovies.
B doesn't use a blanket in the crib. DS1 (almost 3 yo) actually doesn't even use a blanket either. He was so used to not having one that when I did put one on him, he freaked out. He goes through winters blanketless too. I just keep the heater nice and warm.

It works ok.

I'm not concerned at all about blankets at this age.
