JustJ or others

What should I do if I get mail for SD with no return address? I have not sent anything to the post office to refuse her mail because I don't trust them not to mess up our mail since we have the same last name. If there is a return label I am sending back 100% of her stuff. Should I open it and see if there is a return envelope in it?

  • If you open it, isn't that illegal?

  • I think all you can really do is just throw it out.  Opening it and sending it back in any sort of return envelope doesn't guarantee that the business will remove SD from its list.

  • I cross out my address, so it's clear that there is an issue to the mail carrier. Usually permanent marker works for me.  And then I mark it "NO LONGER AT THIS ADDRESS"  very clearly in big bold letters, and put it back in the mail.  That has always stopped it and the it is now the post office's problem.

If it's junk mail, I just pitch it.

Does it at least have a company name on it?  The lady who lived in my current apartment didn't forward her mail right away and I got a lot of financial letters for her.  One didn't have an address, so I put a slash thru the address, then I looked up the local office, wrote the address under the company name in the return address, and marked it "not at this address" and "return to sender".

I know you've been trying to stop the mail and have issues, but if you gone thru all the avenues of requesting and putting a stop on her mail to your address, roll it up the ladder and bitch.  Somebody will eventually listen.

  • There was nothing identifying on it so I tossed it. Anything that I could return I will.
