"Perfect Mom" on FB Rant

There's a girl who added me just after Max was born that I knew in high school, and she was due a month later. All of her statuses at that time were about how she's never felt more amazing in her entire life, how her pregnancy just flew by, how funny it was that she barely gained any weight blah blah blah.

I found it a little irritating, but once she had the baby it went to another level of annoying. "Had the baby on a perfect 4 hour schedule and he's been sleeping through the night since coming home from the hospital! Love my little munchkin" "My boyfriend is making enough money to buy us everything we've ever wanted [pic of a new truck] me and my baby are so blessed" "2 weeks PP and I've never felt so amazing #feelinggreat" "My one week old just rolled over!!" ect ect ect.

I just rolled my eyes at all the posts because 1. I don't believe her 2. It's annoying that our friends who don't have kids will think that's a normal experience, and be in for a huge shock 3. It's kind of funny she's trying so hard to make having a baby sound like the most glamorous experience, when we all know (or will find out) it's not all rainbows and sunshine

But then she started posting on everything I ever shared about Max. I said he slept 6 hours straight! And she comment that her baby usually sleeps 8-9! Someone asked me in a comment how PP has been, and I said it was a rough recovery, and I still haven't lost any of the weight and 2 mins later she posted a picture of herself with the caption "Only 5 pounds to go, nursing is so easy and works wonders!" PFFFT

And then she commented on my baby shower cake and said "I had 3 baby showers!! My monkey is so loved, we never had to put him into one hand me down!"

My monkey is loved too, and he's in some hand me downs. And I had one baby shower It doesn't make him any less loved FFS. I just went ahead and deleted her, but seriously.. Who does that?

Throat punch for sure! Like you said, any mom will know that that is BS and there are times hers kid WON'T STTN and she will get peed on and pooped on, etc. but will she be putting that on FB? Nope.

In my experience, people who post non-stop "vomit sunshine - look at me, look at me, look at me" posts and always have to talk about THEMSELVES on your pictures, statuses, and such are trying to compensate and make themselves feel better about their life. People who are truly happy are just that. Happy. They don't need to announce the degrees of their happiness on a daily basis to try to have their experiences validated. Sad that they feel the need to try to look so happy. As it has been said: "Ain't nobody got time for that."

My poor monkey only wears hand me downs. I guess he's not loved. We do put money in his college fund, though, so maybe he's slightly loved.

I read a quote recently that really spoke to me: the brighter the image, the darker the negative.

I have someone on my FB who is like that and I hate on her at home with DH (I know her through him). But honestly, her life isn't great. Her husband married her for her money and she went off BC without telling him to get knocked up when he didn't want to have kids right away. Yeah, I'm happy over here in "still up 15lbs, lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep, sometimes I need an alcoholic beverage" world.

I also hate moms like that. I bought a ton of used clothes for my lo, I got a great deal on a 75 piece "lot" for $40 from another mom and the clothes are fab because babies grow so fast!

Crazy face! I had a old HS friend do this on fb too. I promptly hid her news feeds because they were so annoying. After I posted about my swollen feet and how sad I was about not fitting in my shoes, she commented: I heard about that happening but I'm all belly. Then she posted on her page that she was shocked to see how seollen and much weight other pregnant people gained and how she barely gained weight and was only baby belly. That was my last straw. Since the babies were born I haven't seen her posts
