Stress Stress Stress

Seriously, stressed out and it is only Monday at 11 am.  What is stressing you out today?

One of DH's three doctors signed a paper for him and answered one question in the negative.  It cost DH his part time job.  DH didn't have his part time job for shits and giggles, he had it to pay for DC and to get us to a better place financially.  So, now we have a shit ton of medical bills coming in from DH's hospital stay, going to the specialist, and we are having to look towards the costs of the transplant and the fucking doctor costs him his part time job.  WTELF? (sorry LL, I am stealing this, it makes me giggle)

Re: Stress Stress Stress

  • I am so sorry willy_gert. I feel like anything anyone else posts isn't even comparable to what you're going through.

I'm just stressed waiting to hear back from my former employer about next steps and that is small potatoes compared to what you and a lot of others are going through on this board.

Thanks @mommap12 , what I am going through sucks, but we all deserve a chance to vent and just throw our hands in the air about our week.  What my family is experiencing is big, yes, but it definitely doesn't negate what you have going on in your life!  I hope you hear back from your former company soon!  Did you already have your phone interview today?

@Afunky6 , thanks for the T&P's!  I can't imagine how stressed you must be with the whole car thing!  Will they not take your deductible out of what they are going to give you for your car?  I am so glad you and LO are okay though!  Do you enjoy car shopping?  I have never gotten to actually shop for my own vehicle, but I love looking through everything on auto trader and car max!  It is fun to dream and I am a nerd and like to figure out all of the "financy" stuff with buying a car!  GL and I hope you find something perfect that won't stretch or stress you and your DH out!

I'm not sure. Honestly, I've never been in an accident before so I'm not really sure how everything works. I guess it's just more of the stress knowing that we can't really afford a lot and I'm curious as to how much this 'new' car will cost. I was a SAHM, but now with this I might be going back to work so I can cover our car payment. I'm not sure. Blah, so many unknowns! I did point DH into the direction of a small SUV. I love the nissan murano and that's been my dream car. I would LOVE to get one of those so we'll see how it all pans out.
I have to admit I am totally in love with the Nissan brand right now!  I am currently driving a 2000 Sentra, but I am hoping to upgrade to the 2013 Nissan Altima in the next year if everything works out!  Nissan has done such a great job increasing their quality without increasing their cost!  I hope you find one too and don't have to go back to work unless you want to!  Having to work a job or an extra job just to make ends meet is not fun!

@willy_gert thanks for asking.  I got past the phone interview and was in person there last Thursday.  Waiting to here if I made it to the next round of interviewing with 3 more people.  Will hopefully know that later this week.

This is so me right now. I was just offered a new job that will greatly help our finances despite that it means paying for part time day care. When offering me the job last thursday they asked me to put in my two weeks at my current job, that I would receive the details of the position and orientation details within 3-5 days once all my checks come back via email. The uncertainty is stressing me out so much. I told my current employer, but I have no idea what my schedule is, what my benefits are, where exactly I'm supposed to go for orientation, etc. All I know is I have a contract offer, orientation is either the 10th or 11th depending on what the email says and I make x amount per hour. I know everything should come back fine but not knowing all the details is making me crazy.

@willy_gert You have a lot on your plate right now and I will be praying for you guys. I can understand how stress medical bills can be. DH had a medical scare recently that turned out to be extremely minor compared to what they were originally thinking. But it has resulted in a lot of bills and I'm not looking forward to seeing those considering we're still paying medical bills from DD's birth. I hate money!

  • I probably shouldn't play because I don't have any real stresses today.

The left over party crap on my dining room table is stressing me out but I'm trying my best to ignore it.

DH met with the owner of his company, the CFO, and the COE because he believes he has been getting shorted on his bonuses. Everyone in the company is eligible for 10% quarterly and 10% annual but he negotiated 15/15. Problem is he isn't being paid 15% when he has emails saying he bonused 100%. He has been talking to his boss about it for a while and today is the meeting with the big wigs. He is asking for retro and a salary increase to buy him out to 10/10. He was really stressed about it last night and it has rubbed off on me; and he isn't answering my texts. The retro pay is a lot and we are not expecting them to just hand over a check but I am hoping they will up his salary so we don't have to deal with this again and he will be the same as everyone else.

  • Well my stress is nothing compared to everyone elses, but I'll go ahead and share. Finances! DH grandmother keeps DS during the day at an affordable price.  She doesn't want to keep him anymore and wants us to send him to daycare.  I have checked every freaking daycare near home and they are just not affordable. We're probaly going to have to sell DH truck to somehow make ends meet.  He's been driving our old car (98 Maxima with over 252,000 miles) because it gets twice the gas mileage of his truck.  We're not sure how long it will last.  What happens if we sell the truck and the car clunks out?  We're going to cancel the cable and lawn service, everything else is on contract so...We've been in a tougher financial strain before and I stress out about it so much.

@willy_gert : I am praying for your husband and family.  It will work out and he'll be good as new.

@MommaP12 : You will soon hear good news from your former employer.

@Afunky6 : Your insurance company will pull through and you'll enjoy whatever new vehichle you choose.

@Shiggybop : That 'lil monster' will start sleeping better.

  • to everyone above: i hope things pick up. big or small, stressful things are stressful and it sucks to deal with them. caption obvious right here, but it's  true and i'm sorry everyone has to deal with crap.

my stress right now is that our apartment flooded for the second time in a month. as in we had rain water shooting several feet in the air out of a drain pipe on our second flood, somehow leaking through our floors and pouring down from our ceiling on our main level. i'm still uncertain our property management will take appropriate action or if we'll have to enter into a formal dispute with them to get out of our tenancy agreement and move. which is a whole load of more stress because we can't afford most 2 bedroom places around us so finding another place to live + paying moving costs is going to really hit us hard.

@kjskjs No way mama.  If it's one thing I learned with my first, do NOT feel guilty traveling when they are this age.  They won't remember it and don't have a strong sense of time yet.  Enjoy that week - SLEEP, Take a bath, read.  Get your groove back and chill.  It will be all good.

  • @Kissty I read that like a fortune within a Chinese fortune cookie, LOL!  Thank you for thinking that!

Thanks! I think it's less about the guilt and more about the worried things will be forgotten. DH tends to need daily reminders for the little things but I have to just get on the plane and let it go. I'm definitely looking forward to the sleep! Oh and drinking!
