  I'm also due on April 27 - congrats to you! I was on a family vacation with my husband and his family at the end of Aug, and he started the trip off with a bad cold - terrible sore throat, congestion. He endured it for 3 days before we took him to urgent care, and they gave him a z-pak. His son (from previous marriage) caught it a few days later, and lucky me, I got it the day we came home, so I was miserable for 11 hours of flying! I had spoken to my doc and they said I couldn't really take anything, so you kind of have to go with natural cures - lots and lots of fluids, hot soup, lots of veggies, ginger/honey in hot water. I got over it, but it took much longer than it would have with a z-pak! No worries, aside from the obvious discomfort and the annoyance of having to suffer through it for so long, your baby should be fine. I had my 1st prenatal appointment about a week later, while I was still getting rid of the head and chest congestion, and everything was fine. Good luck, and feel better!

  I mild cold really shouldn't hurt the baby, although I don't have a medical degree so....

  
  

  You can always call you doc to see what they suggest is safe to help with the symptoms. Tylenol is safe to help with the fever. I would call and let them know that you are sick especially if you are running a fever.

  I'm 12 weeks today, I had a really bad head cold that started early last week, and I'm still not completely over it. Not being able to take anything was tough, so you just have to bear with all of the lovely cold symptoms. I just tried to rest when I could and drank plenty of fluids. Plus, I occasionally took Tylenol for headaches. But from what I've read, the cold won't affect baby at all. Good luck!
