NBR-working out: gym or home?

I'm curious which one you prefer and how do you fit in your schedule? I have a gym membership but haven't been since February! I'm torn on whether to keep it or not. I'd really like to start a routine again but right now I feel like I have barely enough time for myself. Between work, pumping, washing bottles, dinner, taking care of the LO and prepping for the next day there's not much time left to work out. I thought about getting up early but I'm already up 5:45 and that's a struggle especially since my LO is not STTN. So if you do work out, how heck do you find time and where do you work out?

Re: NBR-working out: gym or home?

  • We just cancelled our gym and are going to buy an eliptical. Hoping I can sneak some quickie workouts in here and there.

  • I like going to the gym but with my schedule and everything it's just easier doing it at home.

This is me... plus, I don't really have the funds for a membership.

I like how I added my two cents about this when I haven't worked out since April (and that was preggo water aerobics).

  • I see the advantage of both. At home I can just run downstairs and do a quick workout. I don't have to worry about feeding the LO before the gym or pumping. At the gym I can get away for a bit, work out without any interruptions and take a fun class but finding the time to squeeze it in my day is the problem.
  • I do a combination of home and gym. Id rather go to the gym though. I put my work out clothes in the car. Pump just before leaving work. Run to the gym and never stop at home. If I do, I will never leave again. My husband works from home so that helps but he still needs a break so then I couple night I take LO to basement and workout there. Weekends are easier, I tell my husband just let me have time to work out and you can have the entire rest of the day to do whatever (usually watching football) it works for us, most of the time. On weekends, I put LO down for morning nap then leave. That way he has less to do.

  • I do both. I workout at home during the week and the gym on the weekends. I prefer the gym but I am not ready to leave LO at the gym daycare. I will probably start when he is 6-7 months and sitting well.

I usually do p90x video during DS's first nap while my older child runs around me.

  • I do both. I workout at the gym during my lunch hour and I work out at home once the kids are alseep.
  • I like classes so the gym. And man do i miss my yoga classes. Our gym daycare's minimum age is six months. I can't wait.

I'd put a Movember mustache fail, but then
you'd all have to look at it until February.
