NBR: Travel to NY

Ok ladies. I know a lot of you here are east coast ish. We may have the opportunity to go to NY for 4-5 days at the beginning of december. So I have several questions.
1. Is it realistically bearable weather for a toddler in early Dec?
(We're from CA)
2. What are must see places on such a short trip?
3. Where is a good central location to stay?

And any other advice/tips would be much appreciated!!

    NYC or the 'rest' of NY? It really depends on where you are headed. Do you need to be near an airport?

    1.  I'm about an hour north of the city, but I'm also a FTM so I have no idea about how a toddler would handle the weather. It is cold though!  Layers because everywhere inside is heated!
    2. I would definitely go see the Rockefeller Christmas tree.  There's a skating rink there too but I think its $$.
    3.  FAO Schwartz is always fun.  I love the "big" piano.
    4.  The Central Park zoo is cute, though I've never been in December.
    5.  The museum of natural history.  I always think of the movie a night at the museum (which they used to do for large groups)!

    That's all I can think of.  I haven't been a tourist in the city in a long time.   Ph.ish (my favorite band as you can see) is playing at Madison.square.garden for new years so that the next time I'll be in the city that I can project.  Have a great trip!  I'll see if I can think of any more places.

    The tree will be up!!  So there will be plenty to walk around and see.  But it will definitely be cold - it could go either way though, super cold or not.  That's a hard time of year.

    Definitely see the tree! I would say get tickets to go to Radio City and see the Christmas Spectacular. I have such good memories from seeing it as a little kid! The store window displays should be up too. They are beautiful!

    Weather wise, it could be 50 or it could be 15. It will most likely be in the 30's and probably windy. Dress in layers and have hats and gloves and you should be good.
