Jack was born September 20th at 1:43 PM. He weighed 6lb 14oz and was 19.5in long.
My water broke early morning on Sept 19th. After trying to get contractions started for almost 12 hours my midwife was concerned about infection so we decided to augment labor with pitocin. Pitocin contractions are rough and after 13 hours of them I caved and got an epidural which was a good idea because I had another 8 hours before I was 10cm! I pushed for 2 exhausting hours and Jack came into the world! Only his head was out and he already started crying. I got to pull him out and up to my chest where we did skin-to-skin for an hour and a half and he latched on right away. Although I didn't get the med free birth I had hoped for, the end result was a healthy boy that I still got to do skin-to-skin with. Sleep deprivation is rough and breastfeeding has been a huge challenge because my milk was 7 days late. I'm just now getting a good supply going but remaining hopeful. We had to supplement with formula the first week because my breasts just weren't cooperating. He is amazing though and looking at him makes it all worth it.
DH and I are both 25
Married 8/18/12
Baby Jack's EDD is 9/18/13
