Now that it's apple season, I want to know how you are feeding apples to your LOs?
The only apples I've given to DS was baked apples w/cinnamon, then put in food processor. HOwever, DS doesn't take the spoon anymore, so any mush foods won't work.
This AM I slice a raw apple into thin slices. DS used his front teeth to bite into smaller pieces, but majority of the pieces ended up on his bib and I don't think he swallowed much at all. I then tried microwaving the slices to make them softer, but he threw them on the floor after trying 1-2 pieces. Seems like he doesn't like the texture?
I need some suggestions on how to serve the apples to DS! We've been doing seasonal fruits all spring & summer, and he has no trouble eating peaches, plums, melons, mangoes etc. But the season for those fruits are ending and we have many months of apples ahead of us, so I need ways to get DS to eat apples...
ETA: DS doesn't take the spoon, so the apples preparation has to be firm enough that he can self-feed.

I just peel the skin off of a "raw" apple and cut it into chunks. Sometimes she likes them, sometimes she doesnt. Applesauce is also a big hit with my LO. I usually buy an all natural/no sugar brand from the store but its not too hard to make at home on the stove or crock pot.

Okay, I guess I'll keep trying with thin raw slices, or cut it into small chunks. I did buy Fuji from the farmers market, and it's plenty sweet. (Yes, I did peel it too).

Same as above. Peel the fruit and cut into chunks. I will also just give him an apple with half of it exposed and I think he sucks on it and maybe gets a few bites from it. That will keep him busy for 15 minutes or so - and we all know that's valuable time sometimes!
What about doing baked apple chunks? The same way you would make it for applesauce, just without pureeing it. I'm planning on trying that, as my LO also hates the spoon.
