We've been doing baby oatmeal for a week and a half or so with no issues so ventured into sweet potatoes... a few bites yesterday morning and he has been pooing a TON since then. He rarely even goes everyday and we've had 3-4 a day since those few bites. he was also really gassy yesterday. Is it safe to say he can't tolerate them yet? Is is it just that its something more than formula and cereal?
We've done just about every first stage food and she poops once a day but it's pretty solid so I'm not sure I have any advice for u. However I LO doesn't seem overly bothered by it I'd say keep going. A few farts never hurt anyone. If however your LO is grunting and seems uncomfortable then yes back to oatmeal. Gl
it's not so much the gas, but the insane amounts of poo... to go from an every-other-day (at the most ) to a several times (as in, pretty much every diaper, including overnight) a day poo-er is what has me concerned, really. He's also reduced the amount he's taking in formula, fairly considerably, though he's still within the range our pedi said he'd need to stay at. Hm. I think I'll give the dr a quick call tomorrow just to check in. Thanks!
Not sure I can be much help since we haven't started S on any solids yet, but could the poop factor be unrelated to the solids eating? I know for almost a week or so S decided she wanted to poop 5+ times a day (including at night, which she still sometimes does) when she would normally only poop once, maybe twice a day. She eventually got back to her regularly scheduled poop cycle...
Turned out to be a coincidence. Tummy bug we are giving him a couple days to feel better then starting again. We were doing g whole grain baby oatmeal but the pedi office recommended trying the rice cereal as it's more gentle and then maybe apples. Bland bland for a while.
