Freaking Out (possible BFP mentioned)

I am totally freaking out. After CD35 of my cycle, I went to my RE's office for bloodwork and an ultrasound.
After 8 (seriously 8!) negative HPT tests in the last 10 days, my HCG level came back at 6.5 and my progesterone was at 3. I still did not think anything of it and have been waiting for AF. My RE was planning to start me on Provera and then a medicated cycle with IUI next month.
So we retested on CD37, HCG level as up to 45! Holy shit, a very early pregnancy!
I am freaking out because after 8 negative tests last week, I went out and had a bunch of drinks with my girlfriends a few days ago. Please don't flame me- after 11 months of trying, I was just so certain my period would start any day.
Also totally confused with the timing of when we may have conceived. Either I ovulated much later than I thought (totally possible because my cycles are so wonky)? perhaps implantation occurred late? Or maybe I'm just one of those women with super low HCG rates?
I have another beta test Saturday. I have not told my husband yet because I want to be sure. Plus my parents are in town and we are busy entertaining.
Totally holding my breath and holding this in!

And as to the drinks: No worries! My friend went wine tasting early in her pregnancy and didn't know it.
I went on a 6 MILE trail ride on horseback and I'm talkin hard core cowgirl riding. We could see wild turkeys and deer. I was probably about 5 weeks along.
