Definitely try soft shredded meats but what you're really looking for is good sources of protein, which doesn't have to come from meat. Beans, eggs, dairy and tofu are all great sources of protein.
Ours hated pureed meat but loves shredded chicken and especially pork. We are trying tilapia tonight. He also loves quinoa which is a protein packed grain that goes great with pretty much any vegetable and seasoning (current fav is zucchini and cumin). Split peas are also protein rich.
The key to getting ours to sleep had everything to do with adjusting his napping schedule and making sure he is active enough and therefore tired enough- but every baby is different.
