ipad apps for babies

LO is obsessed with my iphone and ipad.  I dont always cave in but when I do, Id like to have something she can play.  Have any of you downloaded any baby apps that are educational or your LO really enjoys?

  • I second the Fisher Price ones. My LO plays the counting one, the animal sounds one, and there one where a cat and dog sing about the parts of the body.

I told myself that I wouldn't be one of those moms that gives their kid the i(product) buuuuuut I caved. He only plays when nothing else makes him happy and once it doesn't get his attention any more I grab them and hide them. He really only plays once or twice a week with the phone or ipad.

  • thanks :)  Im a big fan of her dimples too
  • I'm one of those weirdos who is very anti technology for babies and young kids....why intro so little?? Bring books with u.
I must be a weirdo too then.
  • no - u guys arent weirdos and I pretty much play with her ALL day but once in awhile, when Im in the grocery store I give her my phone and she loves it. More power to ya that you are able to hold out.
  • Z loves the fisher price ones :). we do the giggle and shapes one the most. theres also the storybook ones and the ones the others mentioned. and on a side note, did you know you can go to settings on the iPad (maybe ipod and iphone too) and then accessibility and turn on guided access. with that on you can triple click the home button and activate it and they can't get out of the app :). Z has discovered the home button and when he gets bored of the app, he presses it and wreaks havoc on my icons. guided access saves that :). although netflix won't play video if in guided access mode :(.

  • I downloaded a piano app when she was about 9 weeks. She still really likes it, but we bought her a bell piano and she is a bit more into that. It doesn't crash, which is a plus :) I let her play with the maps app occasionally, but basically she like to flip the ipad cover up and down. That's her jam right now.

  • I downloaded some apps to see if letting LO play with them would help with nebulizer treatments (she HATES it). Nope, didn't work :-(
