So, I have never posted before on this board and thought I would introduce myself and tell you a little bit of our story. First off, I am a 29 y/o 3rd shift baker in the lovely Mid-west, married to a 31 y/o computer programmer. We have been married for 2 years, TTC for 3 years. I have severe endometriosis and have had a couple surgeries to try and clear out my lady parts. In the last month, I had another surgery removing my left ovary and flushing my right tube. I was then put on Lupron while I heal(to prevent cysts from returning) and the plan is to go on Clomid after a few months and TTC yet again.
But, this is supposed to be an adoption story, right? Yep! We have always considered adoption and after looking into several options, decided that if we did not get pregnant within a year, we would begin fostering in hopes of adopting an infant. Well, this past Monday a friend called me up and asked if we were still considering it. I told her, we kind of put it on the back burner, etc. She informed me that she had a friend who is pregnant and had an adoption lined up but the adoptive mother found out she had a brain tumor and was unable to go through as planned. I was saddened by that news, but knew what they called to ask us about. They wanted us to adopt this baby! Oh boy...and the baby is due in a little over a month! So, after some consideration, we gladly agreed to take on this task. We contacted our lawyer and are now in the process of putting all the proper papers in to adopt this "Lil Bun", as we have come to call it. There are a few things that may get in our way, but we are willing to go through as much as we can to take this gift! My oh-so-rational husband reminds me that we shouldn't get too attached...things can happen. I realize that, but he can't take this high away. I have such hope for this, such love I want to share!
