I posted a few days ago about my BP being sporadically high and my Dr. (she) wanting to induce. Well, today I met with another Dr. (he) in the practice because he's the one on call this week. He was a bit more laid back about the BP issue, and is not jumping right into induction. While she doesn't like to see the "bottom number" above 80, he's not concerned unless it's consistently above 90. He wants me to continue checking my BP at home and at work. He did mention putting me on bedrest IF it continues to creep up towards 90. I have another appt on Wednesday.
So here's my thing....I went into this process wanting a med-free birth and am committed to doing so as long as it continues to be the best thing for both baby and I. IF, my options turn into A. induction or B. bed rest (bed rest wouldn't be longer than 1 week because they won't let me go past 41) what would your choice be? I REALLY want to avoid induction, but (possibly) a week of bedrest means 1 less week with baby, and there's always the risk of needing to be induced @ 41 weeks anyway.
Ugh - stressed!

Re: Wavering on Induction...
Good luck! I know this is all stressful. I had blood pressure issues at the end of my pregnancy and was advised that I needed an induction at 40 weeks. It was really stressful, but thankfully, I went into labor on my own before the scheduled induction. The same may happen for you.

Inductions double the risk of a C-section, but keep in mind that the majority of inductions do end in a vaginal delivery. If your doctor is talking induction, you'll want to discuss how ripe your cervix is and the use of a ripening agent before pitocin is administered. The ripening agent can greatly increase your chance of a vaginal delivery.
