First Day of No Work!

So Friday was my last day of work.. I have such a sense of relief this morning as it's 9:45am and I am still in my pajamas! I do intend to get up earlier starting by the end of the week, but am thoroughly enjoying today.

I also feel like putting off some things that need to be done, and I think I just might. I am supposed to get my taxes done, stat. I was too sick during tax season to leave my house, and now I have the time, and hypothetically the energy, I just have to do it. Ugh. I'll do it tomorrow.

What i DO want to do today though, is get some laundry done and clean my house.. we'll see how far I get.

Has anybody else put off something big because they just didn't feel like it because you were too tired/sick/lazy?

Re: First Day of No Work!

  • Yay for no work!  I look forward to that!

And in answer to your question, I do this all the time!  Last Sunday I literally did nothing.  DH took care of DD and got her out of the house for a little while and I laid on the couch and watched TV all day.  I never got out of my pajamas or brushed my teeth.  Ate junk all day.  DH took care of making breakfast and dinner.  Meanwhile, I had laundry/cleaning/grocery shopping to do, but I didn't do ANY of it!  Take some time to relax this week, you deserve it!

  • yes! I have been putting things off because I'll get  halfway through my to-do list and just need to sit down :) I don't feel bad though ... I just roll with the spurts of energy. Today I'm feeling quite productive! Something about hitting the 100 days left til due date is springing me into action.. but I don't expect it to last all day everyday :)
  • Yay for no work :) I haven't worked since June because I had ridiculous hyperemesis gravidarum and since I just started feeling well and got off my zofran pump 2 weeks ago, it's now too late to find another job and we plan for me to be a SAHM. There are so many days where I just don't feel like doing anything and the fact that I don't have to go to work, makes it worse. But I handle all the errands, shopping and most cooking cleaning since DH works so much -- so I always have stuff to do. I do sleep "late" (9 or 10) a lot of days but since DH leaves at 7 and doesn't get back until at least 6, i always have plenty of time to do what needs to be done before he comes home and we have our evenings/nights to just spend together with our fur babies. But I have worked it out to where there is always a full day during the week where I do nothing but relax and do baby stuff. Since I only arrange that after things that need to be taken care of are done and the apartment is in order, I can have a me day without feeling guilty about it.

  • I quit work 3 weeks before I had DD and oh lordy, that was the best Monday ever! Congrats on no more work! Relax, find a nice walking route, nest, craft, freezer cook and relax some more!

  • My last day of work is 11 weeks from today.  (Not that I'm counting or anything!)

And yes, I do get lazy and put stuff off sometimes.
