I'm against abortion 100% but my mom is making me have an abortion! Is that legal? Can she make me have an abortion. I'm 17 and will be 17 when I have my baby. I'm 7 weeks & 3 days and she told my brother to set up an appointment at an abortion clinic. Can she make me go to it? Because me and my fiancé are a 100% sure we wanna have the baby. If we have to adopt we will but abortion is defiantly out of our plans. My mom has threatened me and told me I will and am having the abortion.

I don't think a parent can force you to get an abortion in any state i do believe it's your body, your baby and you would need to consent to the procedure but i am not 100% sure. Good luck hun!

I should add that depending on the age law in your state if you pursued an abortion on your own you could potentially need your parents consent to obtain one but not the other way around: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/abortion/parental-consent-notification-laws-25268.htm

I don't think that is an issue for you though.

I'm almost certain your consent is required, but no Dr would ever perform the procedure if you tell him or her you don't want it. So be very vocal! Congrats on your pregnancy!
