My twin boys have been in the NICU for 4 weeks 4 days.
How far along were you when you delivered?
30 weeks. I would have been 35 weeks pregnant on Tuesday.
Birth weight/current weight?
Vincent: 3lbs 6oz, now 4lbs 11oz
Dominic: 3lbs 3oz, now 5lbs!
Milestones, setbacks, goals, etc?
Vincent is in an open air crib! He is taking full bottles 1-2 times a day!
Dominic had surgery on Wednesday. It was terrifying. But he made it through and now we are waiting to see some improvement. Waiting is the worst.
How are you handling being a NICU mom?
I'm doing pretty good. I realized today that I haven't been home, or any one place, for a full day since the boys were born. That was almost 5 weeks ago! I'm feeling very anxious about Dominic's GI function. The doc says she is not worried yet, but I can't help but worry.

--29w6d, preeclampsia and HELLP

--little miss is now 5-5, 17" long...she's gained over 3lb and 3" since birth eight weeks ago
Milestones, setbacks, goals, etc?
--moved to wall air to help with feeding, although she's now at 100% o2. Will most likely come home on o2, but oh well. Ate over half her feedings PO yesterday and on course to do the same today. Hoping the extra oxygen helps. Getting color back and hoping for a higher hemoglobin on Tuesday.
How are you handling being a NICU mom?
--have my days, but hanging in there. Now that the dr is talking about home, I'm super anxious!
How far along were you when you delivered? 27 w- Today is our 9th day in NICU
Birth weight/current weight? Beck 2.07/1.15 Caitlyn 1.13/1.11
Milestones, setbacks, goals, etc? Babies are off vents/oscilators and Beck is on regular nose cannula and room air. Caitlyn is still on level 2 cannula. Both started taking breast milk through feeding tube. Beck had trouble at first, but tummy is handling it better now. We got to hold both babies late this past week. Looking forward to some kangaroo time today when I get to the hospital.
How are you handling being a NICU mom? Had my first real meltdown Saturday night. I didn't want to leave them and I knew I wouldn't see them at all on Sunday. My husband was there Sunday, but I went to my baby shower. I can't wait to get up there today. I like that I can call 24 hours a day to get an update. I think I called 5 times yesterday-even though DH was up there for 5+ hours.
