I would take it. You might luck out and it might not mess up your supply, but if you have been pumping and abruptly stop when you travel, you will be producing more than LO will eat and you might get painfully engorged. Then, when you get home, it may take a while to increase your supply through pumping. I wouldn't want to risk not having enough stored once you return to work.
Eh, I'd just bring the pump along. Your supply would probably be fine, by why risk it? 8 days is kind of a long time. Besides, you can pump while your doing all this traveling from place to place - you'll just be sitting in the car anyway, right?
You can always hole up with the baby too and tell them that you pump more if baby is in the room with you (this was actually true for me). Then you and LO get a little break
I have a medela manual pump for traveling and though its a bit of a pain to pump that way it works wonderfully and I let down for it and can pump more milk faster with it than I can with my electric. They are 40 bucks I think and well worth it. That's what I would do in your case.
Even if you take a break from pumping you should still take it. You never know when you might need it and you dont want to risk mastitis. Trust me, its miserable!
