My left breast produces about half of what I can get out of righty when I pump. When LO is nursing from my left he seems satisfied but it does take him longer. Anyone else unequal? Are you doing anything about it or are you going with the 'flow'?
I noticed the same thing today with the same breast. I am going to try to pump without feeding LO first just to make sure he isn't getting more from my breast before I pump.
My righty is the bad one, I struggle to feed DD on that side- it takes forever and kinda hurts. She's a champ on the left. If right doesn't get easier soon, I'm going to talk to an LC. I haven't tried pumping yet, so I have no clue what I'm producing, but she seems very satisfied and she's gaining weight well.
My right is the under performer and the lc told me that a huge percentage of mom's have one side with a greater supply. I always start with the lower supply side and nurse from both sides each time. I also pump the lower supply side once during the day on its own. The lc suggested I do that once or twice a day and I have only really been able to fit it in once. I also pump both side once a day. Á others said though, he is gaining like a champ and seems to be getting what he needs.
My left side is also a slacker. I'm mostly pumping since I have a really hard time getting her to latch and it definitely produces about half the amount.
Left also produces less than right with me. I always start with the right side first, though. Don't remember where I read to start with the higher producer??
My right was producing more and then it switched. And now my left has mastitis so it seems to produce less but only because its clogged. With warm compress and massage they're pretty equal. It was weird that it switched there for a.
@redfallon I read the same thing somewhere. Makes sense
I was told to start with the dud, to stimulate it when baby is more aggressive. If you always start with the stud, it will always produce more because baby is taking more from it.

My right breast hardly produces at all. Thankfully my left overproduces. When LO nurses on my right he just gets upset because the flow is so much slower and there isn't as much milk. I just mainly feed him on my left, and if he is nursing for comfort I will use my right.
My left almost always produces half of my right...even if DS just ate on the right. The LC told me in the hospital that it was normal to see a difference when pumping.
