I've been trying to shower when she sleeps. But she never sleeps these days and I don't want to keep giving up showers. How do you keep yours safe & entertained?
He has a gated play area. When I have to leave the room I make sure there's nothig in there he can climb on. I also turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, or Jake and the Neverland Pirates if he's extra crabby. That keeps him happy.
like @lilidragon, I shower at night after the kids are in bed. I love night showers. I go to sleep with damp hair and wake up with shiny hair full of body and all I have to do is a little hairspray, some teasing and maybe a bit of flat iron if I'm up for it.
I'm very jealous of you GWP! My hair is lank and greasy if I go to sleep with wet hair. I shower in the morning while DD plays outside the shower. I talk and sing to her to keep her where I want her. My showers take less than 5 minutes. If I have to shave, I do at night when DH is home.
"To be able to practice five things everywhere under heaven constitutes perfect virtue...gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness, and kindness."
Usually I shower when she's napping or after she goes to bed at 8:30. I'm a fan of the night showers too. My hair looks good if I go to bed with damp hair, but gets frizzy if I air dry it during the day.
If I don't shower while she's sleeping I stick her in the pack n play right outside the bathroom with a bunch of toys. She's not always very happy about that but playing peekaboo from the shower every so often helps. Other times I take her in with me and let her play on the floor in the shower. I do that when she needs a shower too, and rinse her off after I'm done.
Night showerer here, too. Our open concept living room wasn't made for baby gates and though he's not walking, he's too mobile so I do it after he goes to bed. Sleeping on wet hair gives it a cute and wavy beach look.
I usually shower when he's napping or when he's in bed for the night or when DH is home. If not then I put on a tv show for both kids and they play together if I'm super desperate for a shower.
I keep a pnp in my room. I just plop her in there with some toys while I shower. There's no door between my bathroom and bedroom, so I can always hear her.
He plays as usual and I take 5 min showers. I used to shower during his morning nap at 9, but now that he takes one nap at 12, I have to do it when he's awake.
I wake up extra early to take a shower before she wakes up. Then when she takes her morning nap I do my makeup and hair. Otherwise, I would probably put her in her crib with a few safe toys?

DS plays in his crib with a few safe toys. He's not as happy about it these days, but I try to be quick. DD is in their room, baby gated off from the rest of the house except the bathroom. I keep the door open so I can hear them.

I think I would go unshowered before waking up early. You must be superwoman.
If we are going somewhere are she doesn't seem like she's going to nap I shut her in the bathroom with me. She has toys and I prop my iPad up so she can sit and watch a show. I take super quick showers.
If no nap, but nowhere to go, I just wait until she's asleep then shower.
I shower before she gets up or put her in our bed with DH. I use her climbing on him as his alarm clock. I tried to leave her in the crib but she chewed on the crib.
I have thick dry hair that only likes to be washed every few days at most, so most of my showers are only 5 minutes long. DD just plays in my bedroom for that time. When I wash my hair every 3-4 days, it's usually at night after she goes to bed. I blow dry before going to sleep and then style with a curling iron in the morning.

I usually shower in the morning before I wake up DS. If not, he has a seat with a tray of toys that he plays with. I also turn on toddlers songs that I have on my iTunes.
I mostly shower when DS is sleeping. If we have to go somewhere before nap time I put him in his jumparoo. Ots the only time we still use it so I can get a good 15-20mins out of him before he is bored with it.
Night shower here too! If I go to bed with wet hair, I put a towel over my pillow. Then I wake up and my hair won't be all frizzy. Now that it's cold at night, I have to dry my hair first though.
DD isn't up in the mornings when I am showering and getting ready for work so weekday showers are not a problem. On the weekends if I can't shower while she is napping i drag the pnp into the bathroom so she can see me and she plays in there while I shower.
I set her highchair up in the hallway right outside the bathroom door and give her a snack. Then I talk to her and keep peeking at her to make sure she's not choking on food. Since she still loves Puffs and yogurt melts, I keep them on the vanity counter and keep giving her a few at a time while I put on make up and blow dry my hair.
I usually shower after the kids go down for naps, so at about 2 p.m. If we have to go somewhere in the morning, I'll get up to get a shower before they're out of bed. If I have to shower while they're awake, I just close them in my bedroom (our bathroom doesn't have a door) to limit the amount of trouble they can get into, especially the 2-year-old. But I avoid that because DD screams hysterically when I disappear into the shower & continues crying at the shower door the whole time. It's just unpleasant, and I deal with enough crying the rest of the day that I don't need it when I'm showering too.
I shower in the morning before he wakes up on weekdays. I get up around 6:30a and get myself ready for the day then wake him up about 5 minutes before we are out the door. On weekends I normally shower during his morning nap. If he happens to be awake when I need to shower and H isn't home I stick him in his crib with toys.
Unless I have somewhere to go in the morning I take a shower when she naps. Today I met our next door neighbor's mother in my pajamas. At least Mina was dressed!
I usually wait until DH is home to take a shower. Sometimes I can take a quick shower while DS2 naps and DS1 watches tv but I'm risking DS1 becoming too loud and waking up DS2 so I don't do this often.
