Excuse me if this is something that gets asked often. I haven't been on these boards in a really long time. I found out I was pregnant at 10DPO with a faint positive on a FRER. At 12dpo, it was looking a good bit darker. Since then, it has remained unchanged in color. Today, at 15dpo, I think it's actually a bit fainter. (This is comparing all with SMU)
It's really faint to be 15dpo...especially since my past 3 pregnancies had "darker than the control" lines at 11-12dpo. This line is no where near the control. I know people say HPT's aren't quantitative, but in all honesty, they've always worked that way for me.
Anyone had this happen and had a good outcome? My first appt isn't until Wednesday and my dr's office doesn't routinely check betas. I'm definitely a realist, so I'd rather hear your truthful opinion than false hope. TIA.

A line is a line. It could just be that your urine was more diluted. Try not to stress about it, and hopefully your doctor can give you more confidence on Wednesday. No matter what is happening, there's nothing you can do about it between now and Wednesday, so try to relax. But I hope you get some good news!
I'm a line comparer due to multiple early losses, but really to get a decent picture of what is going on its tough to compare day to day. If you take another test in 2-3 more days and its lighter than I would probably be alarmed. But comparing today to yesterday is very subjective. If the general trend over 4-5 days is getting darker or staying the same then things are most likely ok (as far as a CP goes). If the general trend is getting lighter over 4-5 days then I would be concerned.
My first was extremely faint but the next did get darker but was still not dark like when I got a BFP with DD. So I took a digital and it said pregnant.
I apologize, I may not have made myself clear. I tested at 10dpo and it was positive, although light. I've since tested every day since then using SMU and all FRER. Days 11, 12, 13, and 14 all looked the same. Today's test definitely looked lighter at 15dpo.

Also, I'm not questioning whether or not I'm pregnant, just whether this is a signal that hcg levels are not rising properly (or are decreasing.) I've always had good progressions on FRERs with my previous pregnancies.

You can't base your theories on hcg levels on tests when you're using SMU. You either need to stop peeing on sticks to keep from driving yourself nuts or only test with FMU. Your urine could be way too diluted to see any darkening lines, especially this early of DPO. While its completely probable that you will get positive tests at this point, you have to use FMU to compare them.

OP, this same thing happened to me a couple months ago and it ended up being a chemical pregnancy. My lines never got darker over the course of 5 days. Then I started bleeding that 6th day. I, also, am able to turn the FRER's darker pretty quickly...this pregnancy I got a positive at 10 dpo and by 15 dpo the test line was darker than the control.
Just wanted to update this thread. I did end up miscarrying. I got a + on Monday and less than a week later I was bleeding.
Also, to whomever said you can't test with SMU - I test much better with SMU. My test lines show up better than with FMU. I know of several other people who say the same thing. I don't know what it is, but it works better for me.
