I miss my bump!

Don't get me wrong, I love having an outside baby. But I find myself feeling sad because my bump is gone. Anyone else feel this way?

  • I am sad it's still here. I'm 41wk/5days and inching oh so closer to an induction.

However I do feel like I will end up in your boat. I might miss being pregnant for a while. It gives me such an odd but good feeling that I know I will never feel again unless I decide to have more children. But there are also so many things I won't miss like the staring, touching, and unsolicited advice. Oh and the being over due part, this F'ing blows.

  • I miss mine sometimes also. It makes me sad because DD will never be that close and connected to me anymore. I do love being able to hold, cuddle and kiss all over her though.

  • Yep, I miss it. I had an unexpected c/s at 37w, so I feel like I never got to the "I'm so over this" point in pregnancy, so that might be part of it.

  • I miss it. I had a fabulous pregnancy though. One of 'those' girls :) I love holding my LO and havjng her lay on my tummy but I do miss me pregnant body. And feeling those awesome baby kicks!
  • I miss mine too :(

So many people around me are newly pregnant too so it's really bringing back a lot of memories, good and bad but I do miss having my belly and feeling her kicks

I feel the same way. DD is now 2weeks old and I feel this less so now. After I first had her I would actually find myself crying because I missed her kicks and being able to have her so close at all times. I also had an amazing experience with my pregnancy tho.

  • I miss feeling the kicks and find myself tearing up sometimes. I think I miss it so much because this was my last pregnancy.

  • I still have my big belly but I could see what you mean. For me I think it'll be the lack of attention, probably. Haha. I enjoy having people smile at me just because of my baby bump. It makes me feel special. I think someone was talking about this in another thread recently. Guess I'll have to soak up the "aww, cute baby!" attention.

  • Yes and no. I miss not always having him with me and feeling him move but I love having him on the outside where I can kiss him and look at him all the time. I do love having my body back and since I had GD I love that I can eat sweets again! Oh and not having to pee every 5 minutes is great. I guess I'm more happy to not be pregnant haha.
  • Me too! So glad she's here but I did love being pregnant and I'm not loving c section recovery.

  • The only thing I miss are the kicks. I'm loving being able to do things by myself again (i.e. tie my shoes haha!)

  • I miss feeling so close to my LO, too, but I'm finally over the feeling super sad about it (which I did for awhile the first two weeks).
  • Still an inside baby. I'm going to miss having something to rest my phone and snacks on.

    Other than that, NOOOOOPE

  • I much prefer my post baby body, and I'm only 4 days pp. I loved the kicks and movements, but I love seeing her sweet face, hearing her little tiny grunts, and cuddling and kissing all over her. Oh, and being able to go from sitting or laying to standing without any help is amazing!

  • I have to admit I don't miss being pregnant one bit!

  • The only thing I miss is not having to suck in!!!
  • I don't miss mine at all. Even though I had a relatively easy pregnancy all things considered, I'm SO HAPPY to not be pregnant anymore.

These things don't really go away once you have a newborn...

I miss being pregnant a lot.  I loved having that big beautiful belly to rub all the time.  And I felt 100 times better pregnant that I do a month after giving birth.  I'm still so sore from a hard labor/delivery.  I was swimming laps the day before I went into labor and now if I take a 30 minute walk I'm done for the day!

Worth it for the baby sleeping sounding on me, of course :)
  • I love having DS here and being able to spend time with him!  But when I think about not being pregnant anymore I tear up....those hormones!  I miss the kicks and having him so close to me.  The first time I had orange juice it made me very sad because he used to move all around then.  I also know that I probably won't be pregnant again so that makes me sad too!

  • I wouldn't necessarily say I miss it, but I hate the way my belly looks now, all saggy and deflated. =\
  • I definitely miss being pregnant. But I think the fact that I had him early at 36 weeks so I never got to the "I'm done" stage of pregnancy . With DS I had him at 37 weeks so I also then did not get to the hard last weeks either. Next time I'm hoping to make it to 38 weeks or longer !

  • You know MamaInMN you are totally right... :-<
  • I miss rubbing my belly with my little man inside knowing he's doing great and healthy! Now all the pressure is on me and we have had a couple scares. But I love kissing him and having my little man who I never knew I could love so much!
