Ethan Joseph made his arrival on 9-24-13 at 12:37 pm. Mon 9-25 was my day off work ( was working Tues, Thurs, Fri) this was the first week with this schedule. I had been home all day with a slightly bit more energy than normal so I had did some dishes and cleaned a little bit but could feel some pressure and pains but just felt like normal contractions that I had been having for weeks. About 5 H had fallen asleep in the chair and I decided to time the pains in my lower back just in case they ranged anywhere from 3-5 min apart for about 2 hours. So at 7 we decided to go to L&D where they hooked me up to everything an checked my cervix where we found I was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. I never progressed from there I was 35 weeks exactly. They kept me overnight and gave me meds to stop contractions 2 iv bags which never helped plus meds for pain which knocked me out. The dr checked me around 9am on 9-24 and still no change but contractions weren't stopping she said she would give me more meds since I was still early then come back around noon to make a decision. H went to work since we felt sure I was coming home on bedrest.
When the dr came back still no change so it was either her break my water and labor for however long (By this point I had already been almost 24 hours with no food or drink and wasn't going to be allowed anything else) OR go ahead and do a csection. The dr was leaning towards csection since I've been high risk to begin with and my pelvic wasn't stretching at all. We decided on a csection, H had literally minutes to get to the hospital. He got there in perfect timing (we were waiting on him) and I was a nervous wreck with all my crying since they were worried about him being 35 weeks even though he measured ahead. At 12:37 pm we heard the crying and then I cried, they cleaned him up gave him a little bit of oxygen and took him to the nursery. He needed no nicu at all the brought him to us within an hour.
He has passed every test they gave him! The dr says he looks great we did have some jaundice issues and still does. We got home yesterday and have done pretty good today. Things were super crazy and everything happened so fast!
