Re: NorCal Check In!

  • I'm still on the ms train. Tiredness is still kicking my butt, but I'm doing more lately so either it's lessening or I'm starting to be used to it.

Tomorrow I'm helping out at an adoption event for the rescue we got our dogs from. I'm going to be in charge of puppy adoptions. So excited! Church on Sunday, and I'm sure there will be a nap I there somewhere.

Tonight I went to a party with DH and there was nothing I could eat there. I'm intolerant of corn, more so now with ms, an EVERYTHING had corn. I left when I got really tired and left Hubby to get a ride with a friend. As tired as I was I was sure it was at least 11:30, and was wondering where I would find appetizing food at that hour. Got in the car and saw the clock. Yeah, it was 8:30. I'm such a party animal. So I hit Whole Foods and got fish sticks, chicken nuggets, and blackberry sorbet. Winning at life, right here.

  • Hi! I'm feeling really good! I never got morning sickness, which is awesome, and my fatigue is beginning to wear off...at least a little. Or it could be, like you said, I'm getting used to it. Felt really good last week. I think I'm finally starting to see a bit of a bump. Finally!

I like your whole foods story, DH makes fun of me because I am totally ready for bed by 8pm every night. I'm so exhausted I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow and I sleep like a log. No complaints there!

Plans for this weekend? I think I'm going to break down and buy a pair of maternity jeans. We went out to dinner last night and I wore jeans that I guess didn't have very much stretch to them...I had to unbutton them as soon as I sat down. I think leggings might be in my near future!

I *think* I'm starting to feel a little better!  No puking for a week now and so far I haven't eaten a thing and I don't feel like I'm going to die.  I still have very little energy but at least I'm starting to come around!

DH and I had a crazy work week.  We are both is sales and it's the end of a quarter andplusalso we had a ton to do with our small business.  We have both been going non stop.  The house is a disaster, this weekend I really hope I can clean it and make in comfortable again.

The craziest story I have happened when I was 8 weeks.  I opened an email from my doctor's office while sitting at my desk at work and it launched a video (my computer volume was on high).  The computer SCREAMED out "congratulations on your pregnancy" before I shut the video down.  My boss and one other guy turned around and started cracking up when they saw my mortified face!

  • I've reached the second trimester and mostly feel better though still sometimes feel nauseated. I've been having headaches, ugh.

Plans for the weekend are pee wee soccer, bowling with kids, and driving my new minivan. Woooo!

At least we get the nice weather.
  • aviola329 can you link your thread about telling your mom? Now I'm dying to read it and I can't find it.

  • Nice role call!!

Feeling so much better when is comes to MS but my energy level is ZERO everything feels like a task!

    Entered 11weeks today!

We were supposed to go to the ducks game but we have 30-40mph winds an hella rain!

  • It's weird I'm feeling pretty good the last few days. We moved on Thursday so life since then has been crazy to say the least. But I like our new place and it's a relief to be getting settled in. We're in Pleasanton now :-)
Symptoms wise I've had less nausea (I'm not complaining but it does make me nervous) :-) My bloat is ridiculous though I feel like I look 20 weeks pregnant.  *blush*.

On the down side we have no internet at the house yet so I'm at Starbucks enjoying a salted caramel hot chocolate and doing homework (and bumping ;-) I think my weekend will be comprised of unpacking, homework and unpacking :-)

Loving this sunny warm Fall weather though :-)  Anyone live/d in Pleasanton before? Totally new this area :-)

  • Ya! I missed that thread too!!

  • @aviola329 Ooooh I WISH I was in Disneyland! My BIL works for Disney mobile, and gets us all in for free. Trying to work in a couple trips before the baby comes.

@LittleLady77 Thanks for doing the linking. There are so many if us now! That story is hilarious. Had you told people or did it out you? I hate pop up videos. Did you say anything to your doc?

My boss and I are pretty close and he knew I was going through fertility treatments and had been successful (I had to disclose my documentary to him). The other guy had no idea so he found out that day, ugh! Luckily this happened at 7:00 am and the office was almost empty! My doctor got an earful from me 2 days later!

  • @poru your story so made me laugh! And yay Halloween! My favorite holiday by far.

@joytomylifex You can totally join! So you've lived here before? What area are you moving to? Maybe some of the ladies can help out with doctor recs etc.

  • Anyone heard of/been to Outrageous Outgrowns in Santa Clara? I was googling baby consignment shops (cannot beLIEVE how much a freaking glider costs! Holy moly!) and it popped up. Apparently it's the biggest consignment event is the area. It happens twice a year in Santa Clara, and is going on October 25-27. DH and I are thinking of checking it out. I was looking at reviews on yelp, and apparently some people go every season, spend $200 and get their kid's entire wardrobe for the next six months. I figure if I can save on any of the bigger items we'll need to order around 20 weeks (read: before baby shower) it's be worth it. But I was wondering is anyone had even been? I'd be nice to hear from someone I 'know' what to expect, instead of random yelpers.

  • I grew up in Vacaville, and moved away for college...  Since then I've graduated (twice), got married, and obviously KU.  We have been talking about going back for awhile, and it looks like it's going to happen once this kiddo is born, most likely back to the VV area or around there.  I'm ready to be back in California!!

  • @LittleLady77 Sucks! But apparently they have them twice a year, one in the fall, one in the spring. I'm hoping spring is early enough that I'll be able to hit it and fill in any gaps left after the showers are over. But I'm definitely going in October!

  • My nausea has finally gone away. I am 11w 3d. I actually woke up this morning feeling well rested and decided to go to the gym this morning with DH. Now I am laying on the couch exhausted from this mornings workout watching football. I wanted to get my grocery shopping done today and buy a few new outfits...got to get my energy back first.
  • BiggerinRealLife, thanks for the roll call!  I don't use the bump over the weekend so didn't see this until now :(

We had a pretty chill weekend.  DH and I cleaned the house like a mad man on Saturday, had some friends over for football on Sunday, and cleaned again after they left.  LOVE having a clean house to come home to.  One of our friends brought their 12lb dog over and my 84lb dog played so well with her, I was so proud of him.  I pretty much love my life.  It is really weird to feel so happy.

No symptoms lately, besides sore breasts.  And crazy dreams.  And really bad back-ne... Really bad.  I am just loving this cooler weather and can't wait for the rain.  Have an OB appt on Friday I CANNOT wait for.  I just want to know if there are still two babies in there.  4 more days!

  • Wow, @purespark, that's crazy! I'm really hoping to see the LO wiggling around, since last time all it did was lie there. Also hoping to be less distracted so I can enjoy the experience (was NOT expecting an intervaginal US. Didn't even know they did those!) I am super excited. We're also trying to decide if we want to know the sex. We've always said we're team green, but there may be some good reasons we need to find out. So hopefully we'll have made up our minds by then, in case they're able to tell us after the blood tests. Are you planning on finding out? We're also touring Good Samaritan on Saturday, and I'm super excited for that. It'll be nice to get a mental picture of where our baby may be born.

  • @purespark Yikes. That's quite a commute. Though I'd do it for the right doctor, and definitely for the right facility. I feel ya on the discomfort. I have a slightly tipped uterus, plus I'm just built small, so I've never done well with invasive exams down there. I've actually had to convince doctors before that I wasn't an abuse victim, because of how painful and emotional it can be for me. (I usually cry, and before I was married, I cried a LOT and tended to freak out.) DH has always come to my appointments with me because he knows it can be hard on me, so he was having a great time seeing our little bean. I was more like, "wait, that's the heart? Ok, cool, are we done now?" I'm sure this time will be better because I'll know what to expect.

  • It'll be fine @LittleLady77! Such a low risk that they'll find anything, and when it's done you'll have peace of mind. I know I'm not one to talk, as I'll probably be a basket case when I'm about to have mine, but I'll say don't worry to you now, and trust you all to do the same when I'm worrying my butt off. I've never been much of a worrier, but man! Pregnancy changed that. Let us know how it goes!

Good luck @littlelady77!!  I am sure those twinsies are going strong.  Just out of curiosity - when you go to appointments, do you have camera crews with you, or was that only for your IVF treatments.  Will they ever do any follow-ups when the babies arrive?

Thanks ladies. Everything was just fine. 2 perfect babies measuring right on track. I can't believe this is actually happening! Eeek! I don't have a full camera crew anymore, that was just for the IVF portion but I do have to bring a small handheld camera called a Sony Bloggie with me and film everything. They said they might do a finale episode will all the babies born from the show but I'm not really sure, we will see.

  • poru, Thank you for the good thoughts!  I last saw them at 6w5days, they were measuring 6w6d and 6w3d, so three days apart.  I am hoping they are closer this time!

Don't forget to tell us how your NT goes!!!!!  T&P to you, but I know it is going to go great :)

  • @poru I have no idea. I think there are16 or 18 women going through the process and I was the third to go through it (but only the first to have success). I'm basically further along than anyone else. I don't think it will air for a year or two at least :-S

  • Yay for two healthy babies, @littlelady77! So happy for you! And yeah, I bet all the editing will take a long time. My brother-in-law does film and editing and it takes forever once the footage is shot to get a final product. I'm sure it will be awesome though!

  • My husband was totally traumatized by the transvaginal ultrasound...  I don't think he really understands that they don't stick the entire thing up there-he just saw it and saw it go under the draping.  His face was just like "holy ____".
