hating tummy time

Anyone elses LO HATING tummy time?  She has learned to roll from back to front and gets pissed every time and hates being on her tummy, so I let her be there for about 2 minutes and then flip her back.  She need to learn to like it.  Plus she has a flat spot on her head and I'm trying to keep her off her back so I would really like to like tummy time.

Re: hating tummy time

  • My LO doesn't like it for long. She will tolerate about 3 minutes and then start crying!

  • mine was the same way so we have been working on sitting up now... she is actually getting pretty darn good at it!
  • We put something under her like a boppy or across my lap & she lives that but doesn't like being just on her tummy. (I sit criscross and put her body facing out face over my knee or off to the side).

She can roll back to belly if she needs to (doesn't do it often) & still can't roll belly to back.... I don't remember who said it but my LO totally looks like a skydiver she pulls her arms & legs up & is pissed!

  • This is what he does, he gets out of breath and sweats when he is on his stomach. I have only done like 10-20 minutes a day of tummy time for a while now and he is doing fine, he has a normal shaped head, and just one day (a few days ago) he lifted himself up off his belly.. so now he is trying to crawl.

  • She'll tolerate it longer and longer as she does it more and is able to figure out getting up on her elbows to look around.  But until that happy day comes or she finally learns to roll the other way, you just get to flip her over a lot :)

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

I am still contemplating on downloading Photoshop and putting that in a skydiving picture. I might do it one of these days and save it for his high school year book.
