Here's my multi-purpose thread today.
I had my very worst moment of motherhood this morning.
I was at a photo shoot with DS (he's going to be in a catalogue), and I needed to move him, his diaper bag, his carrier, and my briefcase across the room really quickly. So I put him in his carrier, and put all the other shit on my shoulders.. picked up the carrier (Chicco -- the kind that goes from carseat to stroller insert) by the handle, thinking it would click into place-- and it didn't, which basically means I dumped him right out and onto the floor.
He BURST into tears, OMG, I thought I was going to die of a broken heart. I felt HORRIBLE that I'd done that to him.
After 5 minutes of snuggling he was fine and modeled 8 looks giggling and smiling the whole time. But he has a bruise. Luckily, one of my best girlfriends who is a neo-natologist was there, and she looked at him and deemed him just fine, but I just felt absolutely horrible.
SO - lessons to myself:
1) slow down, nothing is that important
2) Make sure the handle does in fact click into upright position before moving little guy
3) accidents happen all the time, so don't judge so harshly when others make them!
Now back to more snuggling!
