  • Most of those aren't weird, they are a normal part of being pregnant lol. The weirdest thing I've started doing is rubbing lavender essential oil on my temples most nights before bed. It started as an alternative headache treatment and then I became addicted to the smell! I love it.

I am also in love with lavender oil! It is bizarre because I never liked it pre pregnancy. Now I love it in my bath and on my pillows.

  • I never considered using lavender, but now I'm curious!

I know these are normal (not "weird") symptoms, but I really just had no idea about them before becoming pregnant.

Julie, I see you have less than a week to go... So exciting! Good luck!

  • -Lillie,

Great book choices for your little boy.

My son LOVES "Good Night Gorilla" and he has, "That's not my monkey" & "That's not my elephant"

  • No way! That's awesome :) I'd never heard of either before!
  • Thanks Lillie :)

  • Be careful, since this is your blog, it could be considered spam. Just letting you know.

These aren't weird symptoms, I'm pretty sure 98% of the women on my BMB have experienced almost all of them. As far as my opinion goes... weird symptoms are drooling on my pillow when I'm not even asleep yet, getting new dark moles, cuts not healing and scars not going away, growing hair on my buttcheeks, etc. etc.

Everything you listed here seems pretty normal and common knowledge lol

  • Liked your list!! Pregnancy is a cool thing!
  • I agree those don't sound too strange as far as pregnancy goes. They are weird as far as being a normal human being, though! :)

Weirdest thing for me... I don't cry much anymore. And I've been known to cry at a Post-it note commercial, so I expected to just be a leaky faucet all the time during pregnancy, but not so much! It's kind of nice.

Also (and this isn't that weird), I am having CRAZY dreams and remembering them vividly. The weird thing is that in at least 75% of my dreams, I'm fighting with/mad at either my husband or my mom. Mostly my mom. It's weird because, yeah, she drives me a little crazy sometimes, but we don't really fight or anything. And in these dreams, I am usually in a RAGE at her. It's kind of funny!

The last really weird thing that I can think of is that for most of my pregnancy I've had no desire to be independent. And I'm normally a pretty independent person, but now I don't want to drive myself anywhere, I want my DH to come grocery shopping/errand running with me, and I am not really enjoying my alone time much at all. Didn't expect that!

  • Such an interesting mix of symptoms! I don't have the rage dreams, but last night I had a dream about vampires... maybe because a little being is literally SUCKING the nutrients from us?? :) Much as we love them :)
  • The only one that doesn't make sense to me is the "butterfingers" one.  My coworkers have started calling me that.  I drop things like crazy, and did with my first pregnancy as well.  I thought it was all in my head!!

  • All normal. Although I cry a lot more. And 40 lbs? Is that normal? Idk. My first I gained 16, and this one has been 8 so far at 29 weeks. I'm glad you are embracing the ride!!
  • Whoa! I can't believe you only gained 16!!!
  • Well... I'm big to begin with. I was about 176 when I got preg this time, and I'm 5'4. Proportional, and pretty fly, but thick, so I don't need to gain much I guess. My dr hasn't commented, so I suppose its ok!
  • Why was this deleted and now say "SPAM"? It was kind of stupid but it didn't seem like spam...

You're not supposed to post self-referring links, IIRC, for click-and-conversation. It's one thing to have a link to a blog in your sig and it's something else to post a link to your personal blog and then drive conversation around a post you write /there/, on /here/.

Example: Lilly's stuff was asking for comment /here/ on her off-site blog, from which she may net income/referrals/etc. and it conflicts with TB's money-earning pursuits (because, frankly, this is a revenue-driven site). Once the information is posted here for everyone to comment on, it doesn't push for off-site access and conflict with TB's revenue stream. If she had posted the content here and talked about it here, with a blog link in her sig, it wouldn't have been self-promotion and spam.
Okay, I for some reason didn't see that when I originally read this post. That obviously makes sense, I just missed that she had that in there. Thanks!
