7month wakes up screaming all of a sudden...

My LO is 7.5 months. He has always been a good sleeper (so I know I shouldn't complain). But, lately he has been waking up screaming at some point during the night like he is scared.  It has startled me, so I've been going in his room and comforting him briefly, laying him back in bed and then he falls back to sleep. I've tried letting him cry it out, but I end up going in there anyway after an hour. Is anyone else dealing with this? Separation anxiety (he goes down with no issues)? Night terrors? I just feel so bad for my little guy! :(

    I bet its night terrors. My little guy does the same thing sometimes. I have to rock him and sing for him to calm down and realize he is safe and with mommy.

    My little guy did this at 6:30 this morning. He went in and out of screaming/sleeping for about an hour and a half. I'm hoping it was just a one off.

    DD did this this morning around 5:30am?  She was in bed with DH and I sound asleep and all of a sudden started to scream/cry with her eyes still closed like she was still asleep.  I rubbed her tummy and she quieted and slept another 45 minutes.  I'm guessing it was night terrors because neither I nor DH had bumped her or anything.
