Regression

Is everyone else experiencing sleep regression? It will be good to know I'm not alone. Last night I put my daughter down at like 7 like normal, then she woke up at 10:30 so I fed her a little to hopefully help her make it through the night....then she woke up at 2 and didn't go back to sleep until after 4...UGH!!!

Re: Regression

  • Yes. E woke up at 1:30am and finally went to sleep at 5am. This was after a dream feed at 11pm.

I'm soooooooo tired it's not even funny anymore. Her sleeping was never great so I thought it couldn't get any worse....oh was I wrong.

  • Yep we're in the middle of it. Some nights she will stay awake for two or more hours....not crying just awake and if I stop paying attention to her she starts fussing. We're back to co-sleeping.
    SIGNATURE FAIL!!!!!!!

That was exactly it. If she saw me near her she was ok, but if I backed away or left the room she would cry. I thought about beginning sleep training, but part way through her crying I was worried she may wake up my son. So after 2 hours she was in bed with me!! I felt so weak. I know it solved it for the night, but makes it worse long term.

  • We went from sleeping 8-4, eat, back down until 7, eat, back down until 9 or 10. Then I went back to work and it changed to 8-12, eat, to btwn 2-4, eat, then sometimes up before I leave for work at 6:30/7, sometimes not. This week we started waking every 40 mins to 2 hours. Only way to get him back to sleep quickly is to boob him, however if I'd lay him down before he was in a deep sleep, his eyes pop open! It's been horrible. I've sent my DH in a few times bc I was just too exhausted/it'd only been half hour. DS cannot get himself to sleep and we are not ready to CIO (tried once, too early, too heartbreaking). How do you get your sleep regressing LO back to sleep? Food? Rock? Bounce? CIO? I'm exhausted over here!!!

My LO still isn't napping in the crib...she naps in the swing. Which is a habit I need to break...anyway I think tomorrow I am going to start "sleep training" during nap time. I feel like it wont wake the whole house, I wont be exhausted and hopefully when she learns how to put herself to sleep then it will give her the ability to do it at night to.

I'm not sure if you looked up why it happens. Their sleep patterns change and if they don't know how to put them self to sleep...that is when they need us. Not that any of this makes the nights easier, but at least there is a reason I guess.
