How did everyone sleep?

Milestones, updates, appts?

Qotd: Every culture is different, Is there something traditional you will do to your baby once its born?

Re: Thursday Bedrest Check In

  • Thirsty Thursday, my cocktail of the day is Spring water with a twist of Lemon :)

I slept ok. Aside with all the tossing and turning trying to get comfy and ignoring the itching I was snoring by 1am and wide awake at 9am :)

Currently getting dressed to see my MFM and my more then likely this will be my last cervical ck.

Qotd: once baby is born we pray for baby and place a "mano de azabache" it's a little black hand hanging from a bracelet in which its meant to protect the baby from evil. Below is a picture :)

  • Morning!

I would kill for a cocktail today yum yum

no updates here. 35 and 1. slept okayish... been having some painful Braxton-hicks since yesterday afternoon ughhhh nothing pattern-like or timeable or anything but did have some spotting yesterday.

qotd no cultural special things here that I can think of right now... just family tradition things... we're using a bassinet skirt mh's grandmother sewed, Sawyer is getting christened in the same outfit mh and his sister wore for their baptisms, special Christmas celebrations etc...

    have a great apt @kneenah1231!

  • Slept ok last night, but I tossed and turned even more than normal, and got up to pee more than normal because I drank too much before bed and each time I got up because I was very thirsty yesterday!

31 weeks today!  Nothing new otherwise, just happy to have another week under my belt (or under my ribs technically!).

I don't think we have anything culturally planned. My husband is from Sri Lanka so I don't know if they do anything special there, but he hasn't mentioned anything to me at least!

Grey's Anatomy season premier tonight, yay!

  • Morning ladies!  Yay Kneenah for the last cervical check!  marianaz0 35 and 1, almost there!
sftbalbabe 31!  Great!  Slept  pretty well last night.  I fall asleep late and sleep late, so I'm convinced the hospital staff thinks I'm the laziest woman ever, oh well!  No milestones, getting cervix checked again tomorrow to see if Indocin has started to help or if I'm staying the same, or gulp, worsening.  Anyone else been on Indocin?  Haven't seen a lot of posts about it...

QOTD: nothing traditional here, wish we had something!
  • Morning all! Congrats on a the milestones, glad to see most of us in the 30's week wise! I seriously could go for a beer...just a sip!! Last pregnancy my girlfriend slipped me a small glass of wine at the hospital after delivery, haha.

I slept well, DS slept until 9 so that was awesome. I am creeping up on 31w and so excited. Stuff for the nursery has started to arrive and I am getting so excited!

Qotd: we are both Italian...no cultural or family traditions really!

@morgan, when I was in the hospital I started on indocin but it wasn't strong enough to stop my contractions so we combined it with the mag drip for 24 hrs. After that I was on procardia because it is the only one of the three safe to take for a prolonged period of time. My doc told me that indocin should not be taken for more than 48hrs if you want to avoid side affects.

  • Thirsty Thursday HaHa I crave a drink everyday...today it's wine!!!

Sleep anymore is just when I fall asleep until I wake up. I am having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep so I have decided to just go with the flow and when I am sleepy I sleep and if not I just try to keep everything around me calm.

Called MFM to get results from my GD test and they were abnormal so I have to set up an appt with diabetic, start testing 4x a day, and follow a diet. Also let them know I have swelling in my feet and reminded them last week I had protein in my urine and had gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks. So now I have to do a 24-hour urine. I am hoping that all this is going to be okay cause I am only 27 weeks along and pray I see 30 weeks.

Qotd: Every culture is different, Is there something traditional you will do to your baby once its born? We don't have anything cultural that we are planning.

  • Update: 33w 2d Slept much better last night. I've been so hot but don't want to freeze my poor hubby. Lots of movement and kicking from the babies. They have managed to get their feet above my ribs (how is this possible?) and it hurts so much. Add to this the stress of trying to get my damn Procardia from CVS. They ran out and it was supposed to be ready yesterday. I just got the call that the had a shipment arrive. Luckily, I had exactly one more dose. Cutting it way too close.

QOTD: None that we plan on following. I asked hubby about piercing her ears and we agree not until she can do it when she's old enough to take care of them. My culture has a tradition of shaving the baby's head, but we aren't doing that one. My parents shaved my head when I was born and my hair didn't regrow until I was 2. Freaked my father out!

This! I was on mag for 48 hrs at 24 weeks and they added Indocin. The combination settled everything down. Then they started me on Procardia 4 hours after the mag / Indocin stopped bc there is a potential for interaction (although my MFM said he has never seen a negative interaction, it just is possible). No Indocin longer than 48 hours. I think I'm on Procardia until 35 weeks. I thought it was supposed to be longer, but that's the length of the rx they wrote for me. Perhaps I get a refill.

  • Slept ok I guess. Have a dr appointment today at 3. Hopefully my NST doesn't show contractions or ill be sent to the hospital again. I've had a lot of stomach hardening last night and today they usually don't hurt but they are starting to get a little uncomfortable so we will see what the dr says! I was on indocin at 29 weeks for 24 hours. That's the longest the dr would let me do it since I'm having identical twins he said it could effect the fluid levels if I was on it any longer than that. We don't plan on doing anything. We do plan on piercing their ears when they are about 3 or 4 months. I know a lot of people don't agree with it. We figure we will give them different color gems to tell them a part :)
  • I slept really well last night except for some reflux in the middle of the night.  I didn't really want to get out of bed for my appt.

Appt went well, got to watch the baby practice breathing on sonogram the whole time practically.  It was such a relief to see that!  He is still transverse @ 36+5.  Two more days!  Blood pressure is still up.  Dr said after 37 he's ready to throw in the towel, but I'm just hoping I can keep him put til Oct 11 for my scheduled C-section...

QOTD: nothing really traditional for us...

  • Thirsty Thursday How did everyone sleep? Milestones, updates, appts? Qotd: Every culture is different, Is there something traditional you will do to your baby once its born?
I'm new to this bed rest thing, so I'll join in today!
Thirsty Thursday, huh?  I guess my drink of choice right now is water.  I hear staying well hydrated is good for PTL but I also have to keep my bladder empty.  So that's fun.  I am craving a cup of coffee with Pumpkin Spice creamer.  I have half caff but no p.s. creamer.  I also can't wait to have ANY alcoholic beverage.

How did I sleep?  Not so great.  Up several times to go pee.  2 year old DD has a nightly routine of climbing in our bed around 2/3 am and last night she kept crying in her sleep and wanting me to hold her hand.  The holding hands was nice, I must admit.  The crying, not so much.

Milestones/updates/appts?  I hit 29 weeks yesterday.  Spent 5 days in the hospital; put on mag sulfate for the first 24 hours.  2 days later started Indocin and Procardia.  My first goal is 30w, then 32w, then 34w, etc.  I'll continue my weekly P17 injections and bed rest (best I can at home).  I'm continuing the Procardia, although I don't think I'm having contractions.  Cervix is shortened (1.3-1.6cm) with marked funneling...not sure if I'll be having another U/S to check length or not.

Traditions?  Nope.  We're boring.  Just plan on lots of cuddles and sleepless nights.

  • @hjweber - welcome. Yea, the drinking water vs toilet thing gets frustrating. I remember telling my nurse what's the point in bedrest if I'm in the restroom every hour?

  • Any of you ladies on bed rest at home?  I have been home since Monday and am finding myself doing things here and there that I shouldn't.  Mainly because I'm frustrated with DH and the fact that he isn't keeping up with things like I would like (he definitely underestimated what I do as a SAHM) and certain family members who claimed they would help that aren't so much.  Today, I'm feeling some achiness back between my thighs and my pelvic area and thinking maybe I'm over-doing it.  How do you ladies let go of the control and order?  I know this is for LO and that I have that as motivation but I'm just having a hard time sitting and laying and sitting and laying.  I need words of encouragement.   ;;)

  • Hjweber I am very OCD so it was hard to see my apartment not kept the way I like it. I just put in my mind I am not going to do something that I would regret later. My daughter is my main priority right now. I've been on bedrest for 11wkw and dying for the next 4wks to pass so I can do a deep cleaning in my apartment the way I like it :-)
  • Thank you for all the feedback on Indocin, much appreciated!
  • @hjweber, I am in the same boat as you! I came home Tuesday to a huge mess! I am freaking out and kind of tidy up things as I pass by them on the way to the bathroom, haha. It's so hard not to pick up toys or unload the dish washer. Luckily my mom is here helping and she cleans the way I like it done. But just think, at some Lou t you will be of bed rest or have your baby and then you can clean to your hearts desire. I am having a harder time not playing with my DS who is also 2! I just want to scoop him up and hug him.
