I am so relieved to have my appetite back and so sorry for you ladies who are still sick.
But seriously, if I don't end up weighing 200lbs + with high blood pressure and gestational diabetes in April I will be amazed. This baby is crushing my normal clean eating lifestyle.
So far today I've had eggs and bacon for breakfast. Breakfast #2 was a bagel with cream cheese. Lunch is now a Reuben with fries and DH informed me he has 4 cider donuts waiting for me at home. Good lord!
Please tell me I am not alone! And STMs, please tell me that my body will crave veggies instead of fries in a few weeks

Re: I swear this baby wants me to weigh 200lbs!
This time, I weighed 196 lbs when I got pregnant, so I think I'll inevitably reach 200 lbs. So far, even with my appetite back, I haven't gained any weight at all. I'm eating mostly vegetarian meals, with a few carbs mixed in, the meats that I do eat have little to no fat on them, and I'm limiting my sweets intake. I'm just using dietary discipline because I don't want my weight to become a major health concern, and I want to do everything in my power to stay as healthy as possible for the baby's sake. He's most likely going to be 9-10 lbs at birth anyway (he's already in the 97.5 percentile...
If you are truly concerned about gaining too much weight, take initiative with your diet. The more you gain, the more you'll have to work to lose it after your baby is born. You never know - you and your significant other might like your new curves
Also, don't be scared of weighing 200 lbs - I'm pretty dang sexy, and so is @aronie82, and our fellas love us!!

It probably would have been best to say I'm not looking forward to gaining an unhealthy amount of weight during this pregnancy. My cravings are making it difficult and I was looking to see if people had a rough first tri eating every bad food in sight, but went back to a normal, healthier, eating pattern during their secon and third trimesters. I have had 2 losses that ended just before my second tri started, I gained 10lbs each time and have already gained 8lbs with this baby and was looking for some helpful advice and support from those dealing with the same issue.
Again, my sincerest apologies. We are all different and I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone or come off as an ass. I'm sorry that my health and my baby's actually concern me.

I weighed 289lbs 2 years ago and lost a shit ton of weight (without surgery!) to have a healthy baby. I got down to 173. My miscarriage in May helped me to gain about 20lbs. I've put on more since then. I'm not unhealthy, and I have a good plan for my eating, but I can't sit and worry about the weight I will inevitably gain... It's pregnancy.
Sheesh.
It's not the number I'm worried about, it's the fact that I am normally very small at 130lbs, I am now 150lbs after 2 losses and am already up 8lbs at almost 12 weeks. And I know plenty of people will get pissed at me worrying about gaining weight at my size, but I worry that if I can't get things under control I'm looking at a 50lb weight gain ontop of the 20lbs i put on over the past year, which is not healthy for anyone given all the potential health issues that can come from such a gain.
thank you ladies for sharing your experiences. I need to replace the bad food with some veggies and fruit as soon as I can stomach them!

Because I am also a FTM, I don't know a good answer for the craving question, but I am trying to turn over a new leaf and buy more fresh food than packaged. Hopefully it will make me eat healthier if it is around! KWIM? And if nothing else, just breast feed forever and it will melt off.

I'm praying that I start feeling better soon and can get back to my old self who ate really healthy and exercised. Can't wait for the "miracle" 2nd tri everyone is talking about!
To answer your question: I'm a FTM so this is my first go at this, but I've heard lots of moms and reputable sources (OB's, Midwives, other experts...) say that once ms goes away, most of us are able to get over the extreme aversions we're feeling in the first trimester. So from that I take that it is usually ok to get whatever you can down during first trimester and then plan on exercising and eating better through the second and third to kind of make up for it
