First Ultrasound-scary

So we had the first ultrasound today.  Saw a yolk sac, but no embryo and no heartbeat.  I just can't figure out how to process all this in my mind.  My HCG levels were good.  I feel more and more nasueas each day.  Feel very pregnant. Have had no bleeding and no cramping,  The tech said the yolk sac measured 6 weeks and 3 days. 

They said come back in a week and see what we see.  The OB said be causiously optomistic.

It was a transvaginal ultarsound, but they did have me pee first.  I seem to remeber my last pregnancy that they wanted a full bladder, but not sure if I am remebering correctly.

The practical side of me says if there's no fetus, something was wrong and its for the best.  Then there is the part of me that is a little disapointed.  Hoping it was just a little early.

    I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It sucks to be in limbo, but I wouldn't lose hope yet. It's possible that it's still too early. I've heard plenty of good outcomes in your situation. Big ((hugs)), and I hope that you get good news at your next ultrasound. 

    Also, they want a full bladder for the abdominal ultrasound, but an empty bladder for transvaginal.

    I know it's scary, but I hope this week flies by and you get some good news at your next appointment.

    Also, they only want a full bladder for the external ultrasound to help push out your womb/belly.  For transvaginal, my doctor told me that I need an empty bladder as a full one will shadow what she's trying to see.

    This exact thing happened to my friend, they did a repeat u/s and there's a healthy baby. Keep your head up! T&Ps coming your way.

    "Cautiously Optimistic" are the verbatim words that my doctor used too.

    They saw a yolk sack and MAYBE a fetal pole but that it was too soon to tell.  I go back on 10/2. FX for plenty of devlopment over the next week!

    Stay positive. Last week we only saw a gestational sac and today we saw the yolk sac and a beautiful beating heart. I was in your same shoes, we are so early. Stay positive and try not to stress...

    The same thing happened to me, and a week later, we saw a healthy little embryo and heard a heartbeat! We had all just miscalculated the days. Hang in there. FXs and T&Ps your way!

    Definitely do not give up hope! It took my last pregnancy until 11 weeks just to hear the heartbeat externally at my OB...I thought it was over for sure. Things are not always on point like we think they should or would be...and end up working out!

    The same thing happened with my nephew. Went back to doc in 10 days and everything was fine. I had my first ultrasound today and heart rate was 110. On the low side but going back in a week to make sure. I'm sure u will be fine! Praying for you and your baby

    I in the same situation. The doc told me it was a neutral result, not good not bad! I go back on Wednesday for a follow up sonogram. I will be 7w4d . It's hard to just wait and my imagination is running wild. Good luck and I hope you see a perfect little heartbeat next ultrasound!

    I had an us on Tuesday which showed everything but the heartbeat. I am supposed to be 8 weeks tomorrow. Turns out I am measuring 6w5d...so I obviously ovulated late or something. Still no heartbeat but the tech said it is still so so so tiny and just needed a little more time to grow! But the past 48 hours have been the worst of my life...it is such an emotional roller coaster!!! But the thing is, whatever is going to happen is going to happen, and there is nothing you can do...the BEST thing you can do is relax and stay calm! Breathe and settle in for whatever comes at you! My mom made me see the light when she said that I am doing a disservice to my little bean by stressing and worrying and teetering emotionally...I am not only living for me alone anymore, I have a baby to think about, and I needed to just relax and take things as they come!! I spent so much time speculating and driving myself crazy the past 48 hours!! Thoughts and prayers with you!! I pray specifically for the peace that far surpasses all understanding for you!! Stay calm and relax, mama! It's not over yet! :)

    Hopefully it was just a little too early. T & Ps that everything is just fine and you see a baby with a hb next time!
