December 2013 Moms

At least they're being honest

Checking in at my Neurologist's office 10 minutes ago, the receptionist told me:

"I just want to warn you, Dr. C is running at least 90 minutes behind this morning."  Bright side, at least they told me so I don't feel bad about running to the bathroom every 15 minutes. But man, I'm already hungry. Wish I brought a snack.

Does anyone else feel like their time has no value today?

  • @ColeRose what are you going to eat? After fasting and suffering though that test, I think a feast is in order

  • I had my 3 hour test yesterday and the lab tech was 30 mins late.  Not her fault but still sucks when I am hungry and just want to get this test started so I can leave and get food.  I went to Wendy's afterwards.

  • After my 2 hour test, I went solo to Waffle House and ate the entire All Star Special (waffle, grits, bacon, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of toast). I felt like a tick when I was done.

You know I was just wondering this. The first thing I'm going to do is chug water!!! Lol seriously how can you make a pregnant woman not drink water for almost 12 hours! Then I'm chowing on my protein bar in my bag...I don't know after that? I might just heat up leftovers from last night :)

Did they tell you not to drink water? Usually you can...

  • @colerose, They allowed me to drink water at the 3 hour test too. They just said I couldn't chug it. I could sip on it... I ended up making it through 1 bottle in the 3ish hours, whereas I normally would have made it through at least 2 or 3 LOL.

  • And OP, I would have probably screamed and yelled that they're running 90 minutes behind!!! That's BS... I would have totally pulled a pregnancy card here :-D

I understand that doctor's are busy and if they're running 15 minutes late no big deal... Even 30 minutes is whatever, but still frustrating... 90 minutes though?!?!

If it were any other doctor, I totally would have done that. But I LOVE this guy. He actually listens to my answers to is questions and we come up with a treatment plan together (no small task considering the rapidly evolving state of multiple sclerosis treatment, the poisons that may be best for my condition, and my desire to breastfeed LO come December). I know every doctor *should* consider their patients preferences and concerns, but this is the ONE I've met who actually does. So I'm being patient. Hungry, but patient.

  • @colerose glad you are done with the 3 hour.  Eat all the food and get some rest.
  • @Soozerella At least you can bump with impunity while you wait?

  • My development team scheduled an hour-long conference call for FIVE PM EASTERN today. My time never matters to them because they're in Central.

He might have had a emergency at the hospital with one of his patients :( I think it is unfair to yell at a dr they have alot of things to do. I excuse my specialty drs because I know they care for alot of ill patients who are hospitalized.

No emergency here. I hear his voice loud and clear down the hall. He's just giving undivided attention to the guy before me. I'm cool with that. For now.

  • you said he was good, so that means he is good to everyone, I had a primary that would spend 45 mins with some of his patients. then he would spend 10 mins with others and rush them out the door Now that pissed me off
