OPK or Charting?...or both?

How many people do both? If I was to chose to do just one for a bit any idea which should I chose? I'm sure everyone has a different opinion on this. I've tried both and find both hard to do the same time everyday with my work schedule.

I chart, and when I feel the urge to POAS, I OPK, but I mostly just chart and OPK to double check

I do both - why not. The OPKs don't have to be used at the same time every day, I would just do those after work before and right after O, so its just a week that you have to do both. I like the confirmation of doing both. If I could only do 1...I think I'd do charting, it tells you more. And pay close attention to your CM.

I am using OPK's this cycle (first off BCP). It was the comprimise between DH's blind faith that everything will be fine and my obsessive need for information.

most of the time I only charted, because I couldn't get an OPK to work for me to save my life.

So you don't have to pee the same time everyday? Hmm. I thought I did. What about first morning pee? Is that a no-no? Do you really have to try and not drink too much or pee for at least 4 hours before testing?

Chart. Otherwise how do you know to OPK, y'know? I tried just OPK and that's how I'm in this uncertain mess....

I start taking the OPK about day 9 of my cycle knowing that I usually ovulate from day 12-16 based on cycle lenghth and chartting I did for a few months. However, I get a positive OPK and do the BD but still haven't gotten pregnant so now I'm looking back at charting and/or both.

I only charted my first cycle...but this one I did both. So we'll see if it helped any...

I would not rely on OPKs. I have seen too much frustration on here over how sporadic they are.

I've been charting since March/April. We just started TTC in Sept though. DH doesn't like the idea of OPKs, but he told me that if we weren't pg by the third cycle, I could try those too, which I think is reasonable. Technically, I think I'm finishing up the third cycle now, but the first one TTC, we couldn't try very much since DH was on another continent.

I'm using the Answer OPK's since this is my first month and I really didn't want to start charting right away. There are like 20 tests in the box (for $20) so you start testing after AF is over and test every day. FMU is ok, the box said you may prefer to do afternoon though.

My only frustration is that I've now had positive test for 5 days in a row!! First few were neg, now all positive... not sure what that is all about!

I just chart. I tried using OPKs once but never got a positive reading, even though my chart indicated I ovulated.
