Hi,  I am only 18w5d pregnant with a singleton after IVF with PGD.  I have always been a little concerned about my shedding/thinning hair but I've been shedding A LOT this entire pregnancy (TEAM PINK) and wondering if anyone out there has any advice if it eventually slowed down or did you escape the post-partum dread shed I hear so much about?

    Congrats on your pregnancy! I shed very little during pregnancy, but holy heck the pp hair loss is a beast! I believe it finally stopped last week (so it went from 3-9mo). My hair is really long right now and I wish I had cut it short prior to the hair loss.

    Me-36, Unexplained Infertility, DH-35, all clear
    Clomid 50mg 12/2011 = BFN
    Clomid 100mg 1/2012 = BFN, with Cyst
    IVF #1 Lupron/Menopur/Gonal-f/HCG Trigger
    ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
    ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
    Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
    Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 
    Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

    TTC #2 - back to the RE, treatment started 12/2014.

    Congrats!  My hair was super thick and luxurious during pregnancy.  At 4 monts pp, it all fell out.  And grew back a different color!  So basically, I have no advice.  GL!
    TTC with PCOS since November 2009
    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN
    IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP!
    beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75
    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    Unfortunately, I also didn't shed while I was pregnant, but I lost so much hair after my pregnancy (3-6mo) that I thought I was going to go bald. Have you asked your OB about this?


    After 4 years, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs our surprise miracle is here!

    yes, they were not concerned and said everyone's body responds different to the hormonal changes. I just hope it slows down for the second half of pregnancy.

    Well if your OB isn't concerned I wouldn't be either. Although I remember when I was explaining my hair loss to my OB and she told me it was normal, I was convinced that she didn't understand HOW MUCH I was losing and that it wasn't normal.

    Sorry you're losing your hair now, but hopefully this means you won't lose it PP.

    I didn't shed either during pregnancy, but I shed a ton normally. I have thick thick hair and our drains are always clogged because of it. I also didn't have the scary pp shedding/falling out issue, just went back to my normal shedding. I hope it slows for you!

    I didn't really lose any hair during pregnancy and I'm at 10 weeks PP and haven't lost anything yet. I hope yours slows soon!

    I shed here and still am. My hair did not grow AT ALL during my last pregnancy and just kept falling out. Same is happening again. I think some are lucky and get beautiful thick hair and others of us have all the nutrients sucked out of us :)

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP
