When did you get your baby bump!

Hey Ladies,
This is my first pregnancy so I have no clue what to expect. I'm six weeks today and oh so bloated. I'm 5'5" and about 135 lbs. my stomach is usually pretty flat but I do have hips and a butt. I already look like I have a little bump but I know that's bloat. Question is though, for you ladies with a similar build when did you get your baby bump? Thanks, and congrats to all you Mommas!!!

Re: When did you get your baby bump!

  • With my son I had almost the same exact build as you, and honestly I went from bloat to bump with no inbetween. I think at about 10 weeks I had a bumb I could be wrong though it was over 3 years ago haha

  • I swore I had a tiny one at 16 weeks, but no one even in my family could see it til I was 20 weeks. I was obviously pregnant at 25 weeks. I'm 5'6 3/4" and was 138ish before my first
  • At 5'5" and 155 pounds going into my first pregnancy, I didn't get a noticeable bump until 17 or 18 weeks.  But it was still an ambiguous bump.

  • With my 1st I was 20 weeks along before my hubby could really notice a bump and 23 before friends and family who didn't see me all the time could. I went through a long phase where I just looked chunky.
  • Thanks ladies!! Yeah I'm not looking forward to the chunky looking stage. I have a wedding to attend at the end of October. I am going to be around 11 weeks and with all this bloat I know I am just going to look chubby instead of pregnant. Ugh!! Lol. It's so worth it in the long run though. :) I just wish I could skip to having the bump and no bloat.

This was me at 20 weeks when pregnant with DS.

My bump was definitely so much smaller than I had expected it would be by the halfway point of my pregnancy.  But then suddenly it explodes, and you laugh at yourself for ever having wanted a bump, lol.

  • Oh wow.. Awe you two ladies are so adorable with your bumps!!!!
  • This was me at 24 weeks.  I'm heavier than you, but it wasn't until my early 20's weeks that people could TELL that I was pregnant and not just getting fatter lol.  I personally thought you could tell around 15ish weeks, but that's because it's my body and i'm used to it and how my clothes fit.  Sadly, MY favorite bump started around 30 weeks.  I only LIKED my bump the last 10 or so weeks!

3 days before my due date I was out to lunch with a friend.  Some old ladies were oohing and ahhing over her son.  My friend commented about how I was pregnant, and the ladies were like "oh, you're pregnant?  when are you due?"  And I said "Friday."   I KNOW I looked 9 months pregnant by then lol.  Silly ladies

  • Going off OP's question (same build and FTM), I have a black tie wedding to attend in the middle of November (13-14 weeks by then). I already bought a dress back in June (and it's hot) - shows off all the right curves...if I'm showing by then, can I wear spanks or something? We don't want to announce until we are 15-16 weeks at our family's thanksgiving. Will wearing something to "smooth' things over hurt the baby? Will anything smooth over blump or a bump?

  • This is when I really liked my bump though... 36 weeks and after!  I always imagined a cute bump, but mine didn't really show up nicely until late.  (don't mind my sports bra and see through tank top haha)

@jcrewgirl85 Honestly you will be so uncomfortable if you try to squeeze into something like that.  IDK about hurting the baby, because he/she is well protected in there, but you really don't want to torture yourself like that!  I'd buy a different dress.  ALTHOUGH you really don't know if you'll even be showing at all by then... most aren't yet at 13 weeks

I'm a smidge shorter (5'3.5"), but same weight when I had my first. This was me at 16 1/2 weeks. Definitely noticeable!

  • I'm a FTM so I don't have anything to add, just wanted to say how adorable you ladies are with your bumps!! I cannot wait until my blump turns into a bump!
  • I'm glad y'all are posting pics! I'm about the same build as @ckandi007 and I hope I look a fraction as cute as she does!

  • jenmbott - Aw, thank you! Your bump is also adorable :) I'm curious to see when we'll be showing this time around.

Magheeta - I credit the bump showing up because I never did any sit ups and having weak abs lol.

  • I'm six weeks with my second. I did not show with my first until about 19 weeks but I swear this time around I am already growing at six weeks. Yikes!
  • I didn't show until 24+ weeks and am pretty tiny. I just looked like I was gaining wait, then BOOM! a belly! Everyone is different.

  • 24 weeks with baby #2 ;)
  • I am currently 6 weeks along and definitely feeling bloated. This has been a difficult week for me because I do not want to gain too much weight. I know that every body is different but most ladies say they didn't notice a difference until 10-13 weeks! Am I just packing it on to protect the baby or what?
  • I was an early show-er, around 13-14 weeks. Here's my 15 week bump. :)

  • I'm 8w, 5' 4'' 3/4 and I think I'm about the same weight (British not US so not so good on the weight conversions). Hubby said last weekend without me asking that he could see a bump. It's more like I've got a little low belly and can't suck it in! I'm bridesmaid at my bf's wedding on 12 Oct so hoping I don't look fat in the BM dress! My cousins getting married 1 Nov and I love the dress I have and have been looking forward to wearing it all year so really hoping it still fits!
