Bad news: Scan came back estimating my baby is 9 pounds! I'm 5'3" with narrow hips - how the hell am I going to push this kid out?! (and I was hoping to go drug free...)
My OB won't even order a growth scan (and I've got GD) because he says they can be off by up to two pounds in either direction. I wouldn't worry too much.
At 40 weeks and 3 days I had a growth scan and it estimated my DD to be 8 lbs 10 oz. She was born a week later and was 9 lbs 1 oz. I did end up with a c/s but don't worry---plenty of people have had big babies are just fine!!
big baby GD lady from last week was told hers was going to be 12 lbs or something fucking ridiculous like that. I think she came back and said it was only 9 something. Don't worry.
Yah, I know the scans are notoriously inaccurate. Now that the initial shock has worn off, I'm sure I'll be fine. It'll all work out even if I do end up medicated or with a c-section - as long as LO is healthy.
Also remember, the weight of a baby isn't really the "problem." Baby fat squishes. Its the size of the head and shoulders that matter. DD2 was 8lb14oz or 9lb1 oz depending on the scale in the delivery room. She was "easy" to deliver. She thankfully has her dads little head.

You are going to be absolutely fine! A newborn's skull is designed so that the head can "mold" to the shape of your body. Plus, you will be amazed at how your muscles and skin will stretch when the time comes. Just trust your body. You were made for this!
Re: Holy crap - a 9 pounder?!
And 9 pounds is not huge by any means. Yes, it's on the larger side but you'd be amazed at what your body an do!
