We keep it on because without sound, my dog will constantly bark/whine. She must hear the grass grow. Ugh.
Anyway, unless there's something I just want to watch, I have it on Disney Jr., because Bryson already repeats what he hears some. I thought he didn't pay much attention while he was playing, but if the camera even catches an endzone, he signals touchdown. After I saw that, I became acutely aware of what was on.

I let her watch a Disney Jr show when she wakes up and in the afternoon when she gets up from her nap. I usually keep music on the rest of the day until later in the afternoon then I'll put something on. She doesn't really pay attention unless its a cartoon. Weekends football is on most of the day.
We made the decision not to watch TV around her. I was super strict on it when she was younger as she seemed pretty entranced by TVs when they were on.
I've relaxed occasionally in the past couple of months just depending on what was going on and she didn't seem too interested in it. In general though, we're sticking to no TV before 2.
Our tv is on pretty much all day, but Anna could care less about what's on it unless people start applauding/cheering, and then she'll clap along. She has never sat and watched anything for more than a minute or two, so I don't really worry about it yet. Plus, I don't watch anything that has terrible language or violence during the day anyway so I'm kind of meh about it.
I'm still not worried about it yet as he doesn't have any interest in it anyway. But we also wait until he's in bed to watch stuff we really care about - he's too loud to really focus on the TV.

I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."
Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.
