WWBFD (Update- cruise)

So we did this a little backwards but we knew that if we didn't, BM wouldn't say yes to SS going.  DH called SS on Saturday and told him about the cruise to make sure that he was ok with missing those two days of school if everything worked out and told him that he would talk to his mom later on that day. Just bascially to put the bug in SS's ear so that if BM said no, he would understand it was her,  NOT DH who didn't want him going.  LIke I said we usually don't handle things that way, but you do what you gotta do. DH sent BM a text asking her about the cruise later that day, no response until just now.  She said that SS couldn't miss school those two days.  Funny thing is DH had already emailed all of SS's teachers first thing this morning and gotten responses back saying that it would be fine for him to miss as long as he makes up his work.  DH just responded to BM and told her that he already checked with his teachers and they all said that would be fine and that really the only thing he needed from her was to know if she would switch weekends and allow him the extra two days during the week.  She responded with "Well yea, ok I guess he can go then".  Both DH and I feel a huge weight lifted off our shoulders now that it's settled and we can now go enjoy an awesome family vacation!!  Thanks again for all your replies and advice :)

    Wait, so everyone is going, including SS?! That's awesome! I must have missed the end of the last post - how did you guys swing things to make it work cost-wise?

    Wow you have an amazing boss. I'm glad it worked out all the way around.

    Wow, you have an awesome boss! I'm glad it all worked out. We couldn't have taken a vacation without SS either, he's our family :)
