Trouble TTC

Benched to get healthy

Well we had our WTF appointment yesterday.  Our RE seemed pretty ok with us continuing our therapy for 2 more IUIs.  However, after talking with him more, we decided to take the rest of the year to lose more weight.  I am down 25 pounds this year, our goal is to lose as much as we can by January.  Realistically I know you should aim for about 1 pound per week, but I would love it if I could lose about 25 more pounds by then.  DH has also been having some issues with his counts.  Of course I forgot to ask our RE, but I know lots of you ladies have talked about Fertility Blend and CoQ10.  Can anyone give me any info or suggestions on what can get sperm counts up?  We are currently at 100% motility but only 4.5-5 mil.  Thanks ladies!
Ba hahahaha!

  • I hear there are a few things that you can do to increase sperm count. He can try doing more exercise and  some relaxation tecniques. Also I have mine take different vitamines- folic acid, coq10, vitamin c, vitamin e, selenium, and a regular multivitamin. I also make sure he has nuts and pumpkin seeds to snack on during the day for their zinc content. Has your RE suggested that he see a urologist? Our's suggested it right away b/c the mfi may be caused by something that is easily treatable. You never know.
Sorry you are taking a break but hopefully you can get yourselves ready for next year. Good luck with everything.
Me 26 DH 31. Off oral contraception since 1/2012. Actively TTC # 1 since 4/2012. CD3 bloodwork, hsg normal 6/2013. SA performed 7/2013 - low count, low motility. First RE appointment 9/4/2013. Were told SA not good enough for IUI. Repeat SA and additional bloodwork ordered. RE suggests DH see a urologist. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e32d9/thumb.png
  • Thanks for the tips ladies.  Our RE has not suggested a urologist, i'm fairly certain it is caused by his weight.  He has lost about 75 pounds, but still has a long way to go.  I think for now we will start with the fertility blend and CoQ10.  Thanks so much ladies!
