I told my creepy boss, LOL.

So, I went in, and said "I know you already suspect this, but I am pregnant, and I am due April 7th".

His response was weird and he somewhat implied that this was a mistake:  "okay.  well, that's too bad, but we'll get through this.  We'll figure out a way to make it work.  Don't worry about it, I'll fix this".

Then he realized he was angry and he looked at me and said "The company doesn't need you, we'll be able to function without you"  (ouch, I realize that but wow)

I finally said "Mr.Bee and I are really happy.  We have wanted this for a very long time and it wasn't an easy road.  I told you this early so you would have a lot of time to make arrangements"

He said "oh, and Congratulations"  Then his tone changed and he was telling me how he really wants me to come back afterwards and blah blah blah.  The whole thing took a really long time and now I'm stewing about his reaction.  I knew it would be weird, but I didn't think he would be so insensitive.  Glad it's over!  And no real point to this.

    Wow. He sounds like a real winner...I bet he has a ton of really cool friends. (NOT). Next time he tells you anything significant about his life, you should save those lines and throw them back at him. Also, I think how he responded might be illegal on some level. Not sure how, but they can't fire you for taking leave, obviously...(not sure that's what he meant).

    Ugh. Sorry you had to deal with that.
    | Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014

    WOW!  I think I would have cried if my boss reacted that way.   I'm sure your coworkers will make up for your bosses unenthusiastic reaction.   But I'm sure you are glad he knows.

    Wow, what a gem!  At least it is over with.  Sorry he was so... weird about it.

    TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --

    @Roeni, no he doesn't have kids.  He just got married this summer at 45ish, and his wife is a little younger so I hope they do have kids so he can see how hurtful his comments are!  He really likes kids, too, I've seen him with other people's.  I guess he just hates mother's.

    @Peanutz21 - during my first week here, another woman was just coming back from maternity leave and he called her a bitch (to me) for taking the full year off and expecting a job at the end of it (our mat leave is a year).  That was my introduction to how he feels about pregnant people, LOL.  So I guess he has always been a weirdo.  And that's why I was expecting some kind of awkwardness, but not to that extent.

    Married 8/2008. IVF with PGD March 2013.
    3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
    3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
    4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
    PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls

    On 10/23/13 Baby Sophie and Baby Gabriel born at 21+5 weeks. They grew wings and flew away from us. May God bless them always. We love you beans!

    @CousinVicki - LOL, because my company rocks, I love my job, I get along with my boss on everything except girl things, and going to work makes me happy overall.  I just wasn't expecting him to be such a complete a-hole :)
