Twas The Night Before Beta

Twas the night before beta, and lo and behold
Not a corner of the inter-webs had this PUPO chick not patrolled

Searching for stories of “Beta or Bust!”
And crazies like her who in pee sticks did not trust

Well, it was a funny story that seemed to unfold
She found not many peeps willing to withhold

Most had tested early, many tested a lot
Seems everyone else had shared the same thought

That waiting for the infamous call from the nurse
Made receiving a BFN feel that much worse

So now this PUPO gal is feeling quite antsy
And thinking the no-test pact she made with her wife was quite chance-y

Every little cramp and pre-AF sign that she sensed
Reminded her that pregnancy might not have commenced

It might not be her time, and tomorrow might be sad
And that thought made her cry and get really mad

Her emotions were high and her confidence was low
But, chin up she thought, one more night and then you’ll know…

@herbabymama - I didn't know you did that with your beta! We POAS'd exactly so we could share the moment, and beta tests always landing on a weekday, I had to be at work. What a great idea!

When we found out the gender (Mat21 test), we did something special and found out together, alone, at home in our living room. It was perfect. THAT I didn't want to share with anyone else, even at delivery - which is part of why we found out ahead and weren't team green. That, and J is the most impatient person on the planet, and I'm not far behind her. :)

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! Sorry to be a tease - I didn't even think of that, that this would read like "so I decided to test" haha... I still haven't got a clue what to expect. I am feeling crampy and "AF"-y (the whole, I think it's here run to the bathroom to check every 20 minutes routine) ... So my confidence isn't high right now. And @herbabymama - I love that idea about writing the results down so you and your wife could find out together! :)

I vote to pee. Just keep your head on about it - that is, like I said. POAS and getting a + means you made the cut to the second round: Beta 1. And Beta 1 means you made the cut to round 3 - Beta 2. And, if it's a BFN, you can process that together and waiting for test results won't feel so anxiety-inducing.

You're smart and level-headed. But for us, getting that first BFP together, in the bathroom at 8 p.m. on a Sunday in December when I didn't even plan to test until the next day and J asked me to on a whim, because she had a feeling.. I was so shocked I had to sit down on the bathroom floor, and J sat with we and we stared at the stick and teared up and it was perfect! And finding out the gender, just us, was amazing. I'd never want to share those moments with any doctors or nurses or other people.

So I'm with @herbabymama - unless you can pick it up, PEE I say! :)

Of course, we all don't even know if you have a test there at home...

And if it makes you feel any better if you'd done IUI, you would have already tested yesterday at 14DPO right? right???

(we're terrible for egging you on :) I know)
