Hi ladies
I was diagnosed with SPD today (long story short my pelvis isn't handling the pregnancy well and I'm in a lot of pain.) Im walking like a duck all hunched over 24/7. I only get relief when I lie down semi-reclined.
My OB called me with the U/S results today confirming SPD. He said many women with SPD go on to have normal vaginal deliveries. However it can cause complications and they don't recommended an epidural (which is what I wanted) because the best position for delivering with SPD is kneeling or squatting.
He offered me a csection and said its my decision.
I picked csection because I don't want a vag birth without an epidural and as selfish as it is I want the baby out at 38 weeks to get relief from my day to day torture! So my long winded question is: would you have made the same decision as me?
TIA! I appreciate your thoughts.

I've never expecienced SPD, or that type of pain. So I can't answer what I'd do. I've had 2 c-sections and have been fighting tooth and nail to avoid a 3rd. I'd like to think I'd try for a vaginal, but that's just my mindset right now.
I'll be getting a spinal. 95% of the time SPD goes away once the baby is born.
That's good to know. Thanks for sharing. You were allowed to deliver on your back with your SPD?

Yup both times. Plan to deliver in kneeling this time but I'm having a home birth. My pubis symphysis is partially seperated so I can completely relate to your pain. It's no picnic and constant and hard to believe that it will go away but it will.
Thanks! I am judging myself a little. I'll feel bad if my milk doesn't come in and I can't BF and I know my DH will be run raggeded taking care of us while I recover. No date yet - hospital will call me this week
I wasn't offered the choice and told about the epidural either. I'll be speaking to my OB about it.
I agree with all of the other ladies, I would go with the C-section. If you weren't planning on a med free birth, it's kind of hard to psych yourself up for it in the 3rd trimester.
No one can tell you if you are making the right choice but you. You need to do what's right for you and the baby. Knowing full well the pain you are goin through, you get no judgment from me.
I'm sorry you have SPD too.
With that being said, don't judge yourself either way - you have to make the most informed decision for you and the baby and only you truly know what you are going through!
