  • I admit that I do lol, but I try to censor myself and I try to never do it infront of any kids.
  • Sometimes in my head. I try not to let it slip in front of my kids.

  • I cuss a lot more on here than I do in real life  lol
I'm the complete opposite!  I do a better job of censoring myself when I'm typing.

This baby is going to come out swearing like a sailor. And to be fair, I learned my colorful vocabulary from my mother.

Ditto to both of these. I learned it from my mom. I don't think I've ever heard my dad swear. And my filter breaks down the most when I'm pregnant. Thankfully my kids have never repeated me.

Mine too.  There is no hope, especially being that it is football season.  Cooper's first sentence is likely to be "fuck you, ref"  or "fuck you, patriots"  if he is anything like his father.

  • "Douche bag" flew out of my mouth the other day while 9 year old DD was in the car and, of course, I followed that up with "shit! Sorry, I didn't mean to say that!" Dd said, "it's ok. I don't know what that one means." I really try to not curse in front of her.
  • i curse a lot , as does my husband in front of each other , not in front of our child.  we have started spelling things out (what a d-o-u-c-h-e!) , but he is even getting too old  to get that passed him lol. my husband started calling people 'd.h. lawrences' as an AKA for dlckhead ha ha ha.   at least my son will sound well-read if he repeats HA

  • This is kind of weirding me out because during one of my bathroom trips last night, I was thinking this exact question. It seems to be fairly common on this board. My family definitely doesn't swear, and while I may let the occasional one out when I'm really.frustrated., it's not usually my instinct.

  • I voted for the sometimes one, but I do use the "really bad ones" more than the luke warm words.  Not enough options in your poll.
  • I admit, I'm a pearl-clutcher IRL.. I occasionally let a curse word slip on here, but you will never actually HEAR me say it.

  • I do.  Obviously I don't want to curse around our kid(s), so it will be interesting to see if I can break the habit, especially at times when I stub my toe or something... it has become a reflex.  But at the same time I enjoy cursing and I think it can be a great diversion from tension or stressful adult situations.  It also has comedic value IMO.  But not for kids.  I guess I will probably curse less as a parent.

  • i should add my husband and i grew up in pretty much non-cursing households.  if my mom ever said 'shit' i would die and thought it was the worst word in the world lol

  • Always. It's a habit I'm going to try and break since LO is arriving, but let's be honest...I don't think it's going to work super well. My first word was "fuck" for goodness sakes... That kind if explains it all haha

  • I grew up in a non- cursing household, but I curse like a sailor. Terrible!

DH is military, police, and grew up in an extreme cursing household, and has quite a mouth on him.

We are practicing being more Klassy! ;)

  • When I was a kidfif I accidentally said a bad word I would burst into tears. Which apparently prompted my dad to try and trick me/goad me into saying them. Yeah, he was a peach.

But I've got a terrible potty mouth now. Was hoping to knock it off, but no go as of yet.

  • I grew up in a non cursing household, I truly believed my parents didn't know bad words until I was much older. I happen to have a mouth like a sailor! My DH is pretty good about it and I keep planning to clean up my language cold turkey, 37 weeks today so I suppose I have a few weeks to practice. Ah F it, I'll get mad or uncomfortable and let my true feelings fly! Any advice from current mommas to make me more successful?

  • Haha growing up my dad told me I had a mouth that would put a trucker to shame. i told him I learned from him. I like to think I have since matured, but occassionally I do find myself dropping the curse words. Especially lately.

Fuck you patriots. That made my day.

Aw....no love for the Patriots?  :(   Haha....I live with a Jets fan, so those are often the words that I hear coming from his mouth.  But, I love my Pats!  No shame here!!

  • DH never does (he's more of a lady than me I guess, lol), so I never do at home. But I will when I'm out with my friends, and definitely when I'm alone in the car!

  • I said sometimes because I don't think I am on the same plane as @mmgkms, but it's more than the occasional "shit."

    Exactly this. Lol

  • Oh man I actually curse like a truck driver, but for some reason it's only around my husband. And if I get in the car, watch out, I'm all "Get the fuck out of my way, learn to fucking drive you asshole" And I am NOT at all proud to admit, but I have called a few select women the c word when I'm road raging. I don't know where it comes from and I absolutely DESPISE that word, but I become like a demon child and it comes out of me.

I will occasionally let some curse words slip around my parents or at work (whoopsies) but generally it's only around my husband who is SO proud to be married to such a lady.

And it felt REALLY weird to actually spell fuck out above, because I have this strange thing with posting actual swear words online. Don't ask.

  • I can usually control it, like if I'm in front of my friends kids or my mom. But I curse all the time. Especially at work! Someone asked me last night if I talked to the baby, because "they say the baby can understand." What?! Hope not cause she's definitely gotten an earful lol
